The defense contends that no players, including Williamson himself, were directly involved in making financial requests.
Moore told Kaplan: “In this call between Mr. Code and Mr. Townsend, Mr. Townsend says ... ‘Hey, but between me and you, you know, he asked about some stuff. You know? And I said, well, we’ll talk about that you decide.’
“And then Mr. Code says: ‘I know what he’s asking for....He’s asking for opportunities from an occupational prospective. He’s asking for money in the pocket. And he’s asking for housing for him and the family.’
“And they go on to talk. And Mr. Townsend says: ‘so, I’ve got to just try to work and figure out a way. Because if that’s what it takes to get him for 10 months, we’re going to have to do it some way.’”

Can't help but wonder if he's getting around using PEDs as well. This kid is bad news. The physical change is astounding. And I don't mean a Kinlaw type transformation...Zion looks like he had a little "help" with his bulking up.

The NCAA bent over backwards to protect UNC with the fake class scandal. Their house of cards in basketball is about to come tumbling down.

This has being going on in major sports for years. Those that think paying kids will curb this are foolish. The paying will certainly help some kids but it is small potatoes to what is being passed under the table. No matter how much you pay, the prize goes to the highest bidder for the high profile guys.

Liars, Tigers & Goats...Oh My!
Merl Code Jr., the former Clemson basketball star and Greenville native who has been charged in connection with a wide-ranging scandal that's rocked college basketball, faces up to 80 years in prison if convicted on all charges.
He's accused of helping bribe high school recruits to attend certain colleges and sign with agents and financial advisers, and eventually with Adidas as a sponsorship, when they turned professional.
Code, 43, who federal authorities said lives in Greer, faces charges of wire fraud conspiracy, money laundering conspiracy and two counts of wire fraud, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York, where the case originates.
Code is the son of retired judge Merl Code, a prominent Greenville attorney and community leader.

I'd be cool with him spilling every single grain of dirt he knows on Clemson (if it includes some tidbits about football he's in the know of even if only indirectly) in exchange for full immunity.

UNC academic scandal got swept under the rug by the NCAA
The rat that got the current scandal going was from UNC and got them immunity from prosecution.
