Thoughts on the helmets?

I loved them. I was pleasantly surprised to see them. Just wish we could have won in them. Now it's going to be all "no! Don't wear those! We lose in those!"

I thought they were pretty badass.

I didn't care for them. I like the idea, but would rather had the complete gamecock or the head.
If our new look gets some prized recruits, though, then I'm all for it!

I wouldn't mind having a matte black helmet with the block C and Gamecock logo on it. Wear those with the all black unis.
But I do like the ones we wore today. Maybe those 100 recruits that were at the game were too preoccupied with the helmets to notice the shitty playing and the fans streaming out before the game was even close to over.

they did what they could with having to use the existing white helmets. I've heard helmets have to be ordered (by color) a year in advance.
Tailfeathers were cool - fits in with the "No Limits" slogan at Carolina and marketing around campus.
for me, there was a little too much Gamecock arse on the helmet and it's trajectory was downward, so there's some irony there.
saw this during the offseason and it looks a little cleaner and better IMHO. the tapered garnet stripe that runs 3/4 of the helmet, but not to the neck pad, helps the white helmet out.
saw this not too long ago as well... I'd be all for this combination as a staple uniform.

I'm probably too old school traditionalist ... but I didn't like them at all.
If we're going to change helmets I'd like to see us go to a modernized garnet helmet perhaps, but keep the Block C logo, make it chrome garnet or something.

I thought they were cool, I'm not stodgy enough to say I hate them, they are not traditional etc.. yada.
I would love to have a couple different helmets for our uniforms. Like a new style garnet one, a all black one for black outs, and a all white one for stormtrooper unis. If the kids like it, its really all that matters.
And if we do get Nike in here as a sponsor like rooster was talking about, we will have a few different looks.

I liked the idea but think the execution left something to be desired.

That one IMO looks great on white the other one would be awesome on a black matte finish
