I agree. I can't explain that one in my head either other than he wants out of SMU and would like to be OC for the choose coach. That's being extremely optimistic. This is fun and maddening all at the same time. I don't think I have looked at the rant this much since ATPB.

Me either.
As I said las week, I am good friends with one of the BoT's sons. He and I went to high school together, and we work out at the same gym in Columbia. I talked to him last week, and he said that his dad usually shares tid bits of info with him. However, at this point, his dad has not uttered one thing. I don't think that is necessarily a bad thing, but could mean that we do have someone locked up and are just waiting for the right time to make the announcement. I feel like Tanner is going to surprise us, but I have been wrong before and am just going off of a hunch.

Babers didn't take the UCF job. It appears it was offered, but he stalled and they went with Frost.
Bowling Green is playing this weekend. Could this be the guy Tanner has had in his back pocket all along? He's a recruiter (having been RC at several schools, including Arizona), worked in the offensive staff at Baylor under Briles, and had a very successful turn at BG, losing only to UTK, Memphis (by 3), and Toledo.
His squad scores points by the bucket load.
I think he could be a good fit here for what a lot of people seem to want...

Surprising. I had been researching him a bit, and liked what I read. He has a good track record everywhere he's gone, though he's a little older than what I'd like.
Only concern is he doesn't seem familiar with the Southeast, and hasn't had to face too many difficult opponents throughout his tenure.

I mentioned him earlier in this thread..I didn't know much about him till an LSU fan asked why we weren't pursuing him. Did some research and he's got solid assistant experience at two P5 schools as well as the HC experience at BG under his belt.
Would not be a bad hire at all IMO.

That is my reservation with him, as well. His numbers are impressive, but I just don't know if he is the right fit here.

He's got a lot of kids from Florida on his BG team now, so someone is recruiting the SE for him.
Still, his recruiting prowess overall is notable. Unless you're Jr, you don't get to be a RC without being a quality recruiter.
Also, one of his daughters plays volleyball at aTm.
I watched most of his game against UTK early this season. They gave the Vols fits for most of the game. Clearly didn't have the horses, but the Falcons had much better coaching.

Then he can hire assistants with those ties if he needs them.

Has Jeff Brohm been mentioned? Western Kentucky HC. 44 years old, coached under Petrino, good success as OC/QB Coach.

So Mizzou thinks they've locked down Herman...bc UH issued a statement saying they hoped to have Herman's contract extension finalized by Sunday or Monday of next week.
Where, exactly, are they drawing hope from in that statement? The dates given haven't even occurred yet to know if Herman actually inks the deal with UH.
Bunch of yankee retards.
Oh..and hello to all lurking Mizzery fans reading this right now. Creepy arse stalkers.

247 The Big Spur has one ... and what I will call a half of one since it is basically the same one being sourced on another site which has no message boards. Sports Talk.
Sports Talk is reporting that Tony Morrell of The Big Spur was told that we have officially offered the job to Smart.
Came across my twitter feed about 20 minutes ago.

Thoughts on Pruitt? Rusty just said he was a candidate for head coach at USC.

You may very well end up with Kirby. Our AD is being an arrogant bastard and wanting too much control.

I just got an email from the 247 site saying Pruitt is now in the mix. At this point, I've seen 100 names and I've stopped caring a ton.

I thought Pruitt was being eyeballed to replace Smart if (when) he leaves Bama?
Good God...this is like the coaching version of swinging within the SEC.

TBS is reporting that not only is there interest from Pruitt, but that there have been conversations between both camps.
I honestly don't know enough about the guy. He's had a meteoric rise to being an HC candidate, but that's not terribly unusual.
He has an unusual reputation for being cantankerous, difficult, a dynamite recruiter, but also kind of...simple. Dunno.
As a UGA fan, what was your thought about him?
