Herman to SC seems to be gaining steam again.
Looks like Herman just agreed in principle to stay with Houston.

Btw, TBS now reporting that yes, Virginia, Herman is no longer interested.
Well ... I guess that Citadel loss really did just scare the bejeezus outta him where we are concerned. It was a monumental loss and the timing was really bad.
I'm still pissed about that loss.

Not too worried, he wants to be here or not. If not we will find one who does. Sucks but it isn't the end of the world. The Citadel game was an abortion of a game, we followed that up by taking #1 to the brink, if he didn't see potential there and then he isn't for us. I could get behind Morris 38th McIllwain as his qb and Nunez, Neal, Googer and the little speedsters to toss the rock to.

The thing that has me scratching my head about the different reports I'm seeing posted from readers of The Big Spur and Sports Talk is that those two are in cahoots, joined at the hip with J.C. and Kornblut, yet they are reporting two diametrically opposed takes.
That makes me think J.C. maybe, certainly not Tony ... might have a connection out in Houston, I dunno. Something just does not make sense. They are both competing for this story and they could not be more far apart from one another.
This is probably going to be a J.C. vs K-Mac issue in the end. It's getting sorta interesting.
Very Interesting 8 hr old article on Herman and the Houston job ... worth reading.
Also ....
Herman highly interested in UGA job
And finally ...
Houston Chronical on the jobs available to Herman

So Herman is staying at Houston.
Kirby to UGA.
This has turned into a total shite show of a coaching search and hire.
Larry Fedora?
Bruce Feldman is reporting that we are talking to Muschamp ... and if that's the case Tanner has got to go.
What a fricking shite show.

I'm back on the Morris wagon, he was the first name I thought of back after the Kentucky loss.

Agreed with Rooster...if we bring in Muschamp, I'll be spending a heckuva lot more time in the woods during the fall. FTS

Absolutely. No fricking way Muschamp should be considered.

I have to think that this is some sort of smoke screen. I don't think we would be dumb enough to do this, but then again, who knows?

I know there have been a ton of twist and turns in the last 50 days but WTF Ray?
Are we really waiting until every other school has filled thier coaching vacancies and taking the scraps?

How much of the stuff being reported or twitted is just BS? I think the journalist that can actually sway the internet boards are just throwing darts. If they are lucky they can claim to be the one that broke it. I tend to believe the observation made earlier that the people in the know have locked up tighter than a gnats arse stretched over a #10 wash tub. If this is the case, no one knows.
I am being optimistic, but I hope Tanner already has a deal and they are waiting for the right timing.

We all hope that something is locked up, but with nothing being said and confirmations of other schools finishing their searches, it has me a little worried.

Just a hypothetical, but lets say the first 3 options are gone, how pissed would Maryland be if we came in a swooped DJ Durkin?

We deserve a refund from the firm we hired to help with the coaching search if we end up taking Muschamp. Could have just hired Muschamp as head coach in waiting last year, salvaged last year's recruiting class, not disrupted this year's recruiting class, and saved the $750,000 we will owe Hoke next year. Hard to believe we had a jump start on everyone and likely won't get any of the top three we wanted. Sigh.

Call me crazy but, I think Muschamp could work if he learned anything from his Florida experience. He can recruit and at least sustain I think.
Also, Chad Morris could be a good hire, young guy, excellent recruiter, knows he will need a solid defensive coordinator.
The only candidate I personally couldn't get behind is Elliott.

If this hire doesn't work out Tanner's head needs to roll. Anyone else get the feeling that we are dangerously close to dropping the ball and settling?

Rooster, I really like Oklahoma's Riley. Your thoughts?
Posted on 11/30/15 at 4:15 pm to CocknDawg
Riley is young, but damn, that offense looked awesome on Saturday night.
