So, Miles isn't going anywhere?

Nope, anyone who thought otherwise was just blind to the truth. He has almost a $15M buyout if they try to fire him this year. Their school almost had to file financial exigency this year, they won't make that move.

If there's any credence to that, and I'm Herman, I'm calling Bud Foster as soon as I can.

If there's a defensive coach in Virginia I really want, it's Mike London. But he's still employed at the moment...

Miles is a done deal. I've been told by a very reliable source he was notified this morning and wants to break it to the team himself. Was told he would coach the A&M game.

We may not get any of our first five choices.

Buyout is spread out over 8 years. Not as big of a deal as everyone is making it out to be. Never was for the TAF here.

Herman. Miles would be the fourth head coach in SC history to have won a natty somewhere else before coming here, and the second from LSU alone.

We don't need another school's legend. Again.

If USC is going to suck, I'd rather roll the dice on a young head coach with upside than another retread. The only exception to this, for me, is Dantonio, and I don't see him leaving State.

I'd prefer Forrest Gump and Happy Gilmore to Les Miles.

He would be turrible here

24/7 is saying that should Houston lose to Navy this weekend, Herman and Tanner have set a face to face meeting for Monday or Tuesday of next week. If Houston wins, they're reporting the face to face would be (obviously) delayed at least a week.

Wondering how much truth, if any at all, there is to this.

They also said that there is "a current P5 coach" that is interested in the job and is being considered the "fall back option" should Herman not accept the position. No word on who this mysterious P5 coach is, though.

We'll interview Elliott on Sunday, and then Herman on Mon/Tues depending on the outcome of his game vs Navy. If he beats Navy, I bet we don't interview him until the following week after the AACCG. If he loses to Navy, Tom Herman will interview Monday.

Teddy Hefner tweeted that we have been in contact with Air Force's Troy Calhoun. This came out of left field.

Calhoun Bio

He took over for Fisher DeBerry (who is close with Tanner), and he was the Texans' OC in 2006 (Bob McNair spin).

Why on earth we would ever contact a head coach who runs the option is beyond me. This sounds like a load of baloney. The only guy who can do it and win is Paul Johnson and that's only because he coaches in the ACC. And apparently the guy up at Navy.
