Pic of Joyner and Sandidge after the Shrine Bowl. Joyner was showing Sandidge the other Carolina recruit's shirt.

Staff likes the position they are in...Israel Mukuamu has been blowing up his twitter trying to get him to flip from FSU...it is likely a tossup on who he signs with on wednesday

I love taking a few days off from the Rant and seeing our recruiting thread grew by a few pages.
JC's post on 247 on Friday night was very encouraging. Even if we don't close with Tindall and Henry ultimately ends up at Clemson, the idea of still landing a class with Horn, Sandidge, Gwyn, Louis, and Wonnum gives me tingles in my trousers.
Also still majorly on the boat of hiring Henry's dad because it can only further help with getting Crouch. That kid is special.

Yeah ... during the course of getting caught-up I finally came to the realization that this is what it is - he went with Dad. Have heard it from too many people now to hope it falls our way. Even his Mom is implying she lost the battle to friends. Owell.
And with regard to KJ Henry - the more I've thought about it the more I've thought maybe it's not a good idea to play that game and hire his Dad. I keep harking back 15 or 20 years ago when this kid out of Union, Young was his name I think ... OLineman. He negotiated this deal to get us to sign a teammate of his, Rice I think his name was ... a LB. Anyways, long story short they both sit down at the table and Rice signs his GIA with us and ... was Eric Young his name? I can't remember but anyways I'll use that name ... so he sees Rice sign his GIA and then he looks over at his HS coach and asks if it's official ... then he slides the SC contract aside and pulls out a Tennessee GIA and signs it. Totally duped us.
This keeps coming back to me and it concerns me how these sort of deals always seem to backfire in one way or another.

It was a bad move.
Eric Young WAS his name. Just talked to an old friend of mine to get it all in order in my head again.
Curtis Rice was the name of the LB.
It was a big deal when it happened in 2003. Young totally pulled a fast one on us. Rice ended-up being a solid hard-nosed player. Kid worked incredibly hard to overcome the stigma of that day ... and I think Young had his struggles at Tennessee.
There have been other times too. Sometimes twofer one deals work-out like with the Brinkley Brothers. Other times they don't ... like with the Lindsey Twins. There have been even more cases though.

Just for shits and giggles....future Gamecock recruit here. Clowney's "little" boy:
Has his Daddy's smile, for sure. Mama is a Gamecock, too. Former track star at Carolina.

Amazing genes. She broke records at SC..she's like 6'1, to boot. And of course with mama and daddy both being Gamecocks, he really is blessed with superior genetics.

I saw when he tweeted that out yesterday with a "Love you Son" caption. Thought it was excellent. Good looking kid too. God Bless'em.
