For a while he had us up at the top and then took a visit to athens and the Dawgs were in the thick of it if not the lead and now he's taken another trip to columbia so we are back up there. I don't think this kid is gaming the system like we've had done before. he seems interested in both and both have things to offer.

I haven't heard the name but you can never rule anything out with recruiting. Also with having a new OL coach I would expect some attrition there. We already had 2 I believe but with how many we already have committed for this class I would expect more.

Also, highly recruited JUCO DE Dorian Gerald said on Twitter last night that he could be shutting down his recruitment and committing as early as today. This is probably the only Juco guy this year that I can see actually contributing in a meaningful way.

CB Jaycee Horn announced his top 2 of USC and BAMA. Also will be announcing on July 15.
Stephon Wynn also cut it to 3 UGA USC and BAMA announcement on July 1. Likely UGA on Wynn.

Picked up two substantial commitments today:
JUCO DT Jabari Ellis. We haven't been doing so well on the recruiting trail for DL prospects, which is a big need, so to get any DL commitment is great I guess. Ellis was originally an in-state kid, out of Lake Marion...
APB Lavonte Valentine. A FAST back out of Florida, Valentine tweeted recently a laser-timed 40 of 4.34. He will also participate on the track team as well....

I am so psyched to see what Bobby Bentley can do with this kid.
Also sidenote: We got 2 Crystal Ball predictions this morning for 4* OT Dylan Wonnum, our current BUCK D.J. Wonnum's little brother. That would make our 5th OL commit this cycle. Wolford appears to be justifiably unimpressed with what we have on the roster or the 2 OT's that he signed last cycle are looking like they won't qualify.

It always seems like its the linemen that don't qualify. LSU is always hurting for OTs.

Would love to get Gerald but with the way DL recruiting has been I doubt we get him. Also the horn front is just another added hurdle for us...its just been a rough recruiting cycle.

I thought Lance Thompson was supposed to be a great recruiter. Aside from Kinlaw, Sterling, and Johnson, he hasn't really landed any prospects. Definitely hasn't landed any big ones.

Utk has always been successful negatively recruiting against USC. To think that a dead man walking in Lyle (who had never beaten Muschamp) is beating him head to head in recruiting is sad.

It's always been and always will be about wins on the field. That's why blue bloods are blue bloods. Until we start winning 8, 9, 10 games again, we won't get the best guys a la XT.

Channing Tindall (OLB) out of Spring Valley in Cola jumped 23 spots to #22 in 247's rankings in their last update (and #1 OLB). This is a kid we desperately need to keep home. He's been rising steadily through the recruiting process and all 10 CBs on 247 are to us.
Would love it if this kid comes in as Skai leaves as he is a very good player. Plays with a chip on his shoulder and gets after the ball carrier with a vengeance.
