So according to Dan Wolken, roper is gone. Who are some viable candidates for OC? I’d love Bobby Bentley to get a shot cause I’ve seen and played against what his offense can do, and my coach my last year playing football was one of his disciples.

This will be a very important hire for Muschamp for him to shake the national stigma that he can’t have offensive success. I’m really unsure of if he will take a risk on someone not proven at the collegiate level or hire a known commodity.

I want so badly to see us run a spread passing offense, thats the personel that we have.

But if we’re gonna get a chew the clock guy, it needs to be a spread option type system. Jake would have to pull it a lot more for it to be successful

So I'm out here in the middle of nowhere in Pecos County Texas ... no phone service but we finally got wifi up and running tonight.

Two of the guys with me are big SMU boosters who just told me the news ... can't believe Muschamp actually pulled the trigger. Didn't sound as if SMU is going to hire him - at least not according to these guys. Not sure about Ole Miss.

Two Texas grads, two SMU grads, two A&M grads and me. We've had some interesting conversations so far with four more days to go I've already taken four does one sheep and found out Roper is done. It's been a good trip.

I hope Muschamp gets the guy from UConn. He must have somebody already lined-up.

Bentley would be a hell of a playcaller, I believe that 100%. However I know it won’t happen, so one name I hope we can pull out somehow is Troy Walters, the OC at UCF under Scott Frost

I would be happy if I thought we were going to hire someone proven and experienced, but I fear we go with McClendon to keep him from jumping to another program and because Muschamp has no balls or creativity. McClendon could turn out to be great but don't hold your breath, especially given Muschamp's offenses to date under 3 different coordinators.

No, you wouldn't be. If you were happy you wouldn't be here to post given every post you make is negative. Either you're not a Carolina fan and just a pathetic troll, or you must be one of the most miserable people on Earth.

It'll be interesting to see who gets the interim title for the bowl game. Bentley or McClendon?

He's already Co-OC

They'll just remove that from him.

You haven't been paying attention, then. That dude has never said a positive thing about this program. He has always put it, our coaches, our players, the school, etc. down.

There are some people that are just like that.

Some say they're miserable, some call them perfectionists.

Maybe his life is so great and our program isn't living up to his life standards?

I guess it's possible but he never seems happy about anything. Even non-sports related. If I had to describe him I'd say either a tater troll or a miserable "fan."

I will throw out my usual dark horse OC candidate in Brent Vigen, the current OC at Wyoming. He helped win multiple national titles at North Dakota State and Wyoming will have gone bowling for two straight years now... which is pretty darn miraculous.

He can develop QBs, his QB from NDSU is the starting QB for the Philadelphia Eagles and while the guy has been banged up this year the current QB at Wyoming should be drafted this year. Both were virtually unheard of before he got his hands on them.

Vigens runs out of the spread, I formation, single back, and pistol sets, generally finding something that works and then beating his opponents to death with it.

The major drawback, and it would be a major drawback, is that he has spent his career in the upper Midwest/West so he won't have recruiting ties down here.

Josh Allen should be a first round pick.
