It’s easy to say that, but Military status isn’t apart of USC’s set qualifications, it’s extra. What is apart of it is a masters degree.
Running a military university is not at all the same as running a research and grant university. This is a much larger and broader challenge than he has tackled before.
As it pertains to sports, even that challenge is much more difficult, with a lot more $ and fab support.

Please GTFO here with that. The man served in and commanded in combat. Nothing in this world is more difficult, stressful or challenging than making decisions that can get people killed if you are wrong.

Blaming rape on alcohol is absolutely victim blaming, and not personal responsibility. A person getting drunk doesn’t justify rape.
Sorry but military experience has nothing to do with running a large public university.
All this random discussion to again say he needs to shut up. He has not been good with the press yet

You're wrong. Just wrong. The military trains all of our flag officers in the very logistical and financial challenges that running a public university requires. They may not have the title that getting a degree from a University may confer, but they have to attend hundreds of hours of training at various staff schools and colleges throughout their careers. These schools teach logistics, tactics, strategy, history, finance, leadership, etc, etc, etc. Exactly the skills you want in a president.

Excellent post! I have found that most idiots that say "military doesn't count" never spent a day in a military environment.

I just use it from my background
When looking for a new Managing Director at Goldman Sachs.
They look for a guy with experience at JPMorgan or Morgan Stanley.
Not the military

Apples and Oranges. Like I said if you have never been part of a military setting you would never understand.

Or probably a poster that does it for fun like maybe IBG.

Here's an excerpt from theDailyGamecock
Caslen offered support and talked about how he worked to end sexual violence at West Point.
“The importance of the strategy to eliminate sexual violence includes advocacy, and we as an institution have got to provide the advocacy to support all survivors as they go through what they did,” Caslen said.
Caslen believes a main component of sexual assault is a culture of binge drinking.
"We want to take out some of the contributing measures towards sexual assault, particularly the alcohol," Caslen said. "We spent a lot of time a lot of energy training and educating our students on the impact, consequences of alcohol, binge drinking and things like that."
If you did any research into sexual assault, you would learn that nearly 50% of all sexual assault cases have a relationship with alcohol consumption in either the assailant or the victim. So whether you want to believe it or not, reducing alcohol consumption, particularly binge drinking, will have an effect on overall rape statistics. He isn't blaming victims.

Right, but it's why you are also a victim of constrained thinking. It's why organizations like Your Grateful Nation exist. They help our veterans (and specifically Special operators), transition from the military into the private sector. In the case of OGN, the operators there have been members of high performance teams most of their military careers. The skills that they teach on these teams, are exactly the type of skills that are very useful to the corporate world. Skills like team building, crisis management, problem solving, decision making, risk mitigation, data analytics, leadership (both being a leader and being able to be led), loyalty, dedication and a work ethic that is second to none.
There is TONS that folks from a military background bring to a corporate job. The hardest part is getting to corporate minds like yourself to realize that.
A great example of this is former US Navy Seal, Michael Crooke, who was CEO of Patagonia, Inc. from 1999 to 2005. All of the skills learned in the navy, prepared him for a high level CEO job.

No you cant because I served in the NAVY. I understand what Lonnie is saying. Pencil pushers, which are still needed, wouldn't.

I personally think both you and Lonnie are excellent posters on this board and we should be proud to have you both.

One of my biggest pet peeves are when people speak on a subject without doing their due diligence. Just taking information 2nd hand and claiming it as truth drives me nuts. Literally read Caslen's words. I found them on google after 10 secs of searching.
