One thing I have heard about him over and over again is that he is very driven towards being perfect in terms of planning and .... you know what, it may be a psychological thing the more I think about it. He may be a little bit obsessed and a little too driven towards perfection and that may be the issue here.

Hey Rooster,

Remember a few months ago when we spoke about getting Rober O'Neil to speak to the football team? He specifically addresses this in many of his talks. I've heard him say many times "The only place the perfect plan exists is in the planning room." There is a difference between being prepared and micromanagement.

Here's an excerpt from his google talk...

You know what Lonnie, we may have hit on something here. Thanks for sharing that. I do remember that.

I wonder if Muschamp realizes this might be a possibility. I wonder if he realizes that there are people that hate him because of the way he’s treated them or rushed to judgement without knowing all the facts.

He needs to make peace with some people.

You hit on it, I just related it to something I had seen/heard before.

I think you are onto something here. The next and much harder step is communicating it to the decision makers.

A perfectionist normally does not know how to adjust when their plan is failing they just become bewildered because they never considered having to change the " perfect" plan.

It just hit me but Tanner was that way for a long time until he learned to loosen up and have more fun. When Tanner learned that he won championships. He knew recruiting, but he had to learn to coach players who see things from a different perspective than does a coach's son.

I don't have any confidence in Ray, but this would be a great time to manage/coach Will.

Muschamp was named the coach in waiting at Texas
But he left for Florida

I think something happened and he lost that title.
