With the defensive talent we have... spurrier would love Hilinski

SOS had better defense talent than we do now. Not even close.

Not exactly. We have very good talent on defense now. And I’d argue much better skill positions. Quarterback, we’re more talented than anyone in spurrier’s time, minus Connor Shaw, and he wasn’t the most talented QB in the world.

The talent we had on spurrier teams dwarf these teams
One team had 3 first round draft picks on the defense
To go with a few other NFL starters/contributors

I’m saying pure talent; spurriers coaching staff was much better than this clown show even on defense where muschamp is a “guru”. With that development from spurriers staff, this group would be elite.

Yes pure talent was better then too
Gilmore Holloman Clowney Hampton Shell Lattimore Jeffery Quarles Byrd Davis etc
Were all high touted players 4/5 star guys with great offer sheets

I’d take Spurrier as an OC with no responsibilities other than Qb’s and play calling, you know if he wanted to coach still

The pre 2012 coaching staff would do great things with this team. Maybe not 11-2 great, but much better than the shite we have now.
