Says a lot about the style of offense we plan to stick with, being reported by the state and others. Also reported was that Joyner was not at practice today.

DJ is in a tough position.

He already burned a RS last year. There is too much water under the bridge for him to leave this year, I think. If he does leave at the end of the season, he'll have to sit out an additional year if he doesn't get a waiver.

Now if he sits this year, I think he'd have a very good case for a waiver. But with the NCAA, you never know.

I think the question he needs to honestly ask himself, is he a NFL level talent? This we don't know, but the answer is Maybe. The next question is, is that position in the NFL, QB? If he's getting passed on the depth chart that answer should be evident. I hope the coaches can manage his expectations and convince him to stay with our team. I'm pulling for the kid.

Personally, I'd love to see him as a slot receiver.

But he was at practice today (20 Aug 2019).

Not entirely true yet, we just don’t know
Baker Mayfield and Kyler Murray we’re passed in depth charts and transfers

That said, if he wants to play QB now he should go FCS

Maybe Urich switching to a different position will end up having some influence on his decision if he sees him have a successful year this year. I feel bad for him.

I said this on another board that everyone here loves to hate, but I hope the coaches have AJ turner and Jay in DJ's ear today.

Everyone says they want to do whatever they can to help the team. Let's see if they really mean it when the rubber hits the road.

Joyner needs to decide if he wants to play in the NFL. If he does he needs to play wr or db but switching to another school is not going to make him a NFL QB.

Unless he played in more than 5 games last year, his RS is intact. Isn't that the rule?

I hope he would seeing the reality of the situation and try to switch positions. However, I'm expecting a transfer portal entry.

Why do you say that?

I don’t know much about how talented he actually is.
But the amount of transfer QBs succeeding then getting drafted has gotten a lot higher

He's a redshirt freshman. He's got 4 years left to play.

Going to the transfer portal at this point would burn up 2 more years of playing time for him, leaving him 2 to play.

Staff did, in fact, give Dakereon the day off today. He was not at practice.

I think you're 411 is a day behind? But I wasn't there, so I don't know.

The Gamecocks excused Joyner from practice Monday after giving him the news, but he was expected to be at Tuesday’s session. USC has Wednesday off, giving Joyner time to think.

THe biggest thing I took home from that article was...

“He still has full faith in the coaching staff up there. He just wants the ball in his hand,” LaPrad said

IBG, the NFL ,as has college, has become more and more of a passing offense. Joyner does not have the passing ability to be a NFL QB however, he still posses the athletic ability to make millions at another position.

I'll be surprised if he's not in the transfer portal by the end of the year.

He seems firm that he wants to be a QB. If everyone is healthy, he'll never start.

Really sucks because he's a phenomenal athlete, but his mind is made up. His best option is probably FCS.

The NFL has adapted to the spread offense

Do we know if Joyner doesn’t have the passing ability yet?

If he goes and lights it up at an FCS school Or smaller D1 school in a spread offense, It wouldn’t be a bad choice.

He ran a 4.64 40, that isn’t exactly blazing speed, it’s not like he’s a run first QB.

He has improved his passing from horrible to below avg. His accuracy is terrible.
