Basically roper had Bentley keep his feet in an even stance which causes you to take an extra step off the line and nobody except roper wanted to do it. Most qbs have a staggered stance to get the ball out quicker

Here's to Captain Brahsome, the frattiest and headiest QB in Gamecock history.

For this team to take the next step there is no doubt that Roper needed to be fired. I think Muschamp deserves some credit for seeing that and firing his friend. That's something Spurrier refused to do his last couple years as he drove the program further into the ditch keeping shitty coaches around.

I agree. I literally said the same thing this morning riding back with a friend from Cherokee. It shows that Muschamp will do whatever to make this program successful.

mehhh....it was muschamp realizing this is his last chance...roper wasnt getting he job done...nothing to do with firing a friend it was all self preservation,,,,if he is smart he will promote BMAC to OC and Bentley to QB's hire a stud recruier at RB's and another DL coach...Lance to coach OLB's and DE and the other dl coach in charge of interior d linemen....or lt to lbs and a dl coach and hultzler to st all the time...peterson can coach mlb's....herealy hasnt sealed the deal for anyone anyhow

Muschamp took a 3 win team to 6 wins and now 8 with a chance for 9. I don't think he is in any danger of getting fired at all at this point, so it's not really self preservation. If he had kept Roper it's not like this team was going to tank next year or he was going to be fired. Muschamp is just placing winning ahead of friendship. Sure, it's his responsibility to do what's best for the team, that's why he gets paid big money, but as our last coach proved it's hard to get rid of people you are friends with even when you know they need to be replaced.
