Our two losses are to UGA and UK.
27 point loss to UGA, with the more points scored on them than all the other games combined. It was closer than the Arkansas game.
6 point loss to a team that just beat UF by 7.
the other games being close are obviously frustrating, but when compared to the leagues results those two games dont look at bad.
So yeah im hopeful going into UT.

No idea why.
Our defense and special teams seems likely to outscore the offense in the season.
UT just put up 62 on the road against Mizzou.
We have won a total of three times in Knoxville. All three wins were against bad UT teams yet we still could have lost all three of those games (probably should have lost the 2017 game).

I get being realistic, but man sometimes yall are just downers. Do the other team boards look like this?
yall know you can look at positives too right? Our defense will keep us in games...that always gives you a chance to steal one.
trust me, im not trying to be a sunshine pumper, but we did have a chance in that Kentucky game.

so just for the record - it appears it's Tenn and their fans that's now preoccupied with what uniforms they wear while Carolina has moved on from such foolishness.
Pittsburgh has a QB Kenny Pickett (albeit 5th yr SR) that has very much the same athleticism & skill set as Doty. he gave UTK and their fancy all-orange uniforms all kinds of fits in a noon game in Knox a few weekends ago.
Panthers also caused 3 turnovers and had a WR throw a TD pass on the way to a 7 point win. Pitt only gained 93 yards on the ground on 45 runs (2.1 ypc) but managed to move the chains for 24 1st downs.
oddly enough - in true Gamecock fashion - Pitt took possession of the football 3 times on the UTK side of the field and managed just 6 total points.
T19 - FG
T48 - FG
T32 - Punt
for UTK, both their QBs played in that game as Milton went down in the 2Q and Hooker finished the game. Vols secondary has been a weakness for them all season. Pitt took advantage as did Missouri with almost 400 yards passing.
there is a blueprint to beat UTK. I just hope our coaching staff has paid attention. it begins with USC not killing itself with careless and undisciplined penalties.

God damn those Pitt uniforms are beautiful
But i agree, it’s pretty basic, offense needs to score, and we can’t make dumb penalties/turnovers etc.
Easier said than done, and I’m not that confident going into it.

I’m not that confident going into it.
Biggest thing that jumps out at me is TN defense plays a lot behind the opponents LOS with TFL. Satterfield won't be able to take a half to figure out what works or it will be too late.
USC is a team that does best to muck up the game's pace and make it ugly with turnovers & penalities. TN was flagged 13 times for 135 yds vs PItt. If we can do that in Knox we may steal a win.

You need 17-21 points from defense and special teams to be able to be competitive. Offense alone *may* get you 10 points.
Utk is about to make it look easy. Really easy.
