The only other areas of need I can think of that we will address would be OL and DL.

ATL hit the nail on the head. LoS is what the rest of the class will be unless a superstar flips last minute.

My ideal, premier, fully erect gameCOCK scenario is as follows:

1) Mario Cristobal as OL coach
2) He turns the tide on us getting Moore and Tony Gray for OL
3) Brad Johnson and Aaron Sterling/Matthew Butler commit for DL

3* RB CJ Leggett, played for GT last year, then was dismissed and transferred to Mesa CC in AZ, will be walking on at SC this January.

At Mesa CC he didn't do great though, 98 carries for 323 yards, 3.3 ypc avg, 2 TDs. I read some people are blowing this up on 247 based on Hudl film, however, now that I see his stats, it seems like we just got a good walk-on/scout team guy. Sure, glad to have him though.

Junior college defensive back Keisean Nixon had his moment in the spotlight on Wednesday when he committed to South Carolina over offers from Tennessee, Georgia and a host of others, and he received a congratulatory note from one of music's biggest icons. Snoop Dogg, who has sold over 35 million albums worldwide, sent the below tweet to Nixon, who announced his commitment on Wednesday morning.

quote:

GRAYSON, Ga. – Grayson offensive tackle Tony Gray took a break from recruiting visits and most of the recruiting process during the recent high school football season. But South Carolina still remained in the recruiting mix for him.

A pair of USC coaches visited Gray and he visited South Carolina for its game against Tennessee in late October. “It was a tight game,” Gray said. “It was a good vibe down there at South Carolina.”

The 6-foot-5, 290-pound Gray said he mostly put his recruitment on the shelf during the season in order to focus on winning a state title. He and his teammates accomplished that last weekend when they defeated Roswell in overtime at the Georgia Dome to claim the Georgia 7A championship.

“I never made it this far in my high school career to where I’m at now,” Gray said last week prior to the state title game. “It’s a blessing to be at this point and play for something you came for. … I would actually cry because we worked so hard during the summer time. That would be a blessing to get a ring.”

With his season behind him, Gray’s focus will turn back toward his recruitment. He will play in the Under Armour All-American Game, then take some officials visits. He doesn’t have schools in mind that he wants to visit yet, but South Carolina is working to be in the picture.

Gamecocks wide receivers coach Bryan McClendon and former offensive line coach Shawn Elliott – now the Georgia State head coach – visited Elliott in early December. “We talked a lot about the school and about life things and stuff like that, as well as making the best decision for me and my family,” Gray said. “The relationships, we are just getting back to talking and everything. We are building and talking.”

And while the Gamecocks continue to battle for his commitment, Gray does have a teammate in his ear as Grayson defensive back Jamyest Williams is a South Carolina commit.

“Jamyest, he tells us, we have to do what we have to do,” Gray said. “It’s all a business at the end of the day. It’s what fits for you. He kinda says little things, putting it out there and saying it’s a good opportunity and stuff like that.”

4* DE Javon Kinlaw made his final OV plans
So Cal on Jan 13th
Alabama on Jan 20th
SC on Jan 27th

That's the final 3 and most likely it will be bama or SC. I still think he ends up here though.

Kinlaw too.

I hope we close strong.

Closing with Kinlaw, Gray, and maybe one or two of Johnson/Moore/Sterling would have me very pleased.

Several Gamecock Commits/Targets got a ratings bump on 247. Their ratings were boosted after the UF 247 Insider covered the Shrine Bowl and requested ratings updates for prospects.

Brad Johnson was bumped to a 4* 92-rating, and now inside the Top247.

Matthew Butler was bumped to a 4* 91 rating, just outside the Top247. It is looking like he'll pick tenn though.

Eric Douglas consistently performed like the best OL on either side at the Shrine Bowl and was bumped up to a 4*. I think he had the biggest boost to his rating.

This is actually a pretty nice pickup as a transfer. I've seen the kid play, he's a baller. Somehow only a 2* out of Byrnes.

Big South Freshman of the Year transfers to SC

Based on his offer list you wonder if he had grades issues before, but has apparently improved on those....

What's the word on Tank Robinson? Was looking at the Shrine Bowl rosters and his name popped up. Haven't heard much about him lately.
