I'll be absolutely shocked if we get him. He's Tennessee all the way because they have all but given him a written guarantee that he'll start on day one at OT ... or so I am being told. And again, really close family up in Knoxville, (daughter and) Son-In-Law who works for UTK (academics non-football related) along with others. My Dad is still alive and well into his 80s but he's still a Vol nut who follows recruiting above all else and who is connected up there. Plus one more guy, who we are adversarial but he's big in the media up there. He's really rubbing it in on me right now because he thinks we're living and dying by the Moore kid which I laugh at ... but we've had this hate relationship going-on for decades and he's usually on the money when it comes to what's going on up there.

We're pretty much wasting our time on Moore unless more, by instruction from us, is playing UT coaches for complete and total fools.

And finally ... Don Mahoney keeps telling everyone he is about to get a new contract and his offensive line is going to be better next year than they've ever been. So Moore sees this as some kind of stability plus deal ... and so does his Mother evidently. Whereas, his mother has gone on record as saying that Knoxville is not too close and not too far away.

I will not only be absolutely shocked if we sign Moore ... I'll be a little bit disappointed because he seems like a genuine prima donna.

It doesn't surprise me that they tell him that....Travis Haney has already put out the article about the UT staff making such similar promises to recruits, then having a lot of discord when they back-track on them. They already lost a few top players like Hurd who specifically stated he was promised things that never happened as a reason for leaving....

Tennessee just pulled that 5* OT prospect, and I'm sure they told him the same thing. UT will return Kendrick who has started 19 games during his career mostly at either RT or LT. He will be a senior next year, so if they red-shirt Moore his 1st yr. there, then I can see that. UT also has Hall who's dealt with injuries but has started 13 of his 16 gms played in the past 2 years. He will be a Jr. and was injured in the 1st half of the season, but now has started the last 6 gms he's played.

UT also has a rising soph. named Richmond who has already got 5 starts at LT, who was higher rated as an OT then Moore is, and is red-shirting a player named Johnson who was a consensus 4* OT prospect. But Moore is being guaranteed to start at OT on day one. If he swallows that hook, line, and sinker, then he deserves to get what's coming to him lol......

Now, after next season both Coleman and Robertson who are long-time starters in the interior, will be gone and UT will need replacements at the Guard positions. If Moore wants to red-shirt then play on the inside he would have a strong chance to see early PT and even starts. But he'll definitely have more competition at the OT positions at UT then it looks he'll have at USC....

I've had my doubts about having this guy play tackle. Not being a hater, but if your high school coach doesn't even have you playing tackle, how are you going to fair in the SEC? I think Moore would def be value added, but should stay inside.

Do we need to worry about Hamsah and FSU?

No. He is bonding with the Gamecock Commits and Leans at the Shrine Bowl. Also, Jay Graham is well respected in Concord obviously, but the Gamecocks have A Lot of help in Concord as well. He isn't flipping, he realizes he has a legit shot at starting for us next season.

Darell Scott. This is EXACTLY what happened with him too and why UTk and Butch's name became mud in Havelock HS and the surrounding area. RB Scott was leaning towards us for a long time, and then Butch and company promised his family and him the moon/playing time. They didn't deliver and he transferred to ECU.

Butch jones is a salesman but a lot of what happens with these kids is them having a me first mentality and not being real with themselves. You also have to question a players work ethic when he's worried about who's ahead of him on the chart and he hasn't even played a snap in college yet

4* DT Robert Cooper, fsu commit, is still in play for us. He's taking a OV here in January and has been in contact with Coach Lance and Coach Coleman.

I think we get him today and Nixon on Saturday. We really need them both to fill in the age/class gaps b/w Lammons/King/Smith and the RS FR and FR DB's we have. Right now, we would be very thin at DB in 2017, these 2 JUCO's are important for us.

agreed. I think i read somewhere that between what we lost this year and next year, we are losing 7 DBs. We definitely need these guys.

Robert Cooper

This kid is huge. I have seen him listed at 6'3'' 340 lbs. That would be a big deal if we flipped him late.

I put him in the wrong thread, Cooper is a 2018 recruit. We have a year to flip him.

LINK

It's Chalmbers. Needs to hit the weight room though. 6' 180 is going to leave him looking like King, hanging on a WR's back while he carries him into the end zone.

Gosh ... we have to be getting close to being done in the secondary for this class.

We don't want to be so top heavy in the secondary that we end-up lacking at other positions.
