Thank you, seriously, thank you. From a former college basketball player brought up in a Bobby Knight system, I can appreciate the way you coach. When the players buy in and you've got the right guys, anybody is beatable. That Final 4 team was no fluke. They were talented, you had all the pieces and they gelled at the perfect time. then tenacity on defense and that harder than a coffin nail attitude you beat into them was something to see. Its rare you put the pieces together and you catch lighting in a bottle at the right time like that.

But the game has changed and the recruiting def has. You and Coach Huggins are the last of dying breed. And I hope you keep coaching, there are kids out there like me that needed that Father Figure to get in their face when they deserved it and speak a language they understood. In a world of soft panty wastes, coaches like you produce grow arse men.

But why does Coach Huggins keep winning basketball games and field top ranked teams?
Frank sucks.
Let’s bring Boynton home

Says a lot that he brought the most consistent "success" to South Carolina in decades.

South Carolina is an incredibly difficult job.

Because Huggins recruits the north east for a very "certain" type of player. He gets thugs from impoverished communities with no father in the home. If you want an idea click the link and read about my friend Donald. He stayed in trouble and never played high school ball. He played one tournament in YBOA with us and Huggins had him at Mount Zion prep in Raleigh the next year. He literally had Kevin Garnett's game and size but was undeveloped. He flushed it down the toilet with this little doozie.

LINK

I was on a recruiting visit in 98 when Cincy played a good USC team in Cola. Bobby Brannen was beating the living shite out of Ryan Stack. And just before halftime Ruben Patterson wipes his face with a towel, looks right at USC's bench and fans (we were sitting behind the team) and says "God dAmned we're whipping y'all's arse". USC went into halftime down 23 points. At the half we walked into Coach Huggins locker room and as we did I saw a metal chair fly at Kenyon Martin and Coach Huggins would have been banned for life for the way he was screaming at them. It made Frank look pedestrian. Up until that point, I thought Coach Wright (Famous Westside in Augusta Coach) was the worst, I was wrong. We walked over into Eddie Foglers locker room and you'd have thought you were in a baseball dugout.

Yes, that’s what I was getting at. Huggins knows how to recruit

It is. But there is no reason we can’t be way better.

I’ve said it before but I don’t expect us to have Kentucky-like expectations or anything like that... but we should make it to the tournament more than once every 15 years.

Clemson has made it 6 times since 2008. There is 0 excuse we haven’t at least done that.

Like I said, all we need is in state every single year. Anything else is in the metro CSRA (Augusta) and Atlanta. And there is not a single Georgia school we can't recruit against. Yes, some will run for big blue blood programs and be one and dones (zion). But others were right under our noses and we showed very little interest (Ja Morantz).

If you look at our best years and our best talent, all of it came from in state.

Dozier
Thornwell
Alex English
BJ Mackie
Melvin Watson
Antonio Grant
Tony Kitchings
etc
etc
etc

Wonder how much Frank played in actually recruiting these guys
Probably little to none.
Also, I’ve seen nothing of this meeting that supposedly had today between Tanner and Frank

Yeah I just don't buy into the "Frank builds tough men" thing. Then again I guess guys would have to stay here long enough to grow. Just because you yell and scream doesnt mean youre growing men any better than the guy who doesnt.

The lack of development and discipline bothers me. When you watch his teams play, youd expect this strict disciplinarian to have a team that plays like it. Instead they are the sloppiest offensive group year in and year out. They dont make their free throws at a high clip, and perimeter defense is usually an issue. Yet we every year hear that this is "franks best offensive team" from the man himself. He usually fails to take any personal responsibility for losses, instead blaming it on the players themselves.

I get why Frank has this following of fans, as he symbolizes a blast from the past of tough coaches. The game has grown and moved on. So should we

So the word is the fans got played by sorry arse politicians ( pos democrats). Caslen gave Tanner the order to fire Frank but they were giving him time to find another job but Frank calls in favors and has Alex English and sorry arse pos Senator Darryl Jackson ( whos pos offspring is the one steering instate players away from USC) to cock block the coaching change by threatening to block USC from getting funds for its $35 million medical center if Frank is fired. Alex English was a great player and nice guy but in real life is a soy boy whos wife wears the pants ( I know them personally so I can say this as a fact).
So unless Frank leaves on his own he will be here next year.
frick Darryl Jackson and his family.

Oh well.
Another season of shite.
It is what it is, gives us another year to scout a coach
Maybe another year for Mike Boynton to see what he can do without the number one Pick

This is the major difference between USC and clempson. We have politics involved in our athletic department and clempson doesn't. Around here it's " you do something for me if you want something from me" versus " idgaf just win" in tatorville.

I was thinking this Our best team was with Thornwell and Dozier who were named in the FBI case.Lamont Evans an assistant for us was hit hard. Ever since that season and case our recruiting has been even worse than it was before
You think the NCAA told Frank, that’s it, if you do anything else we are giving you a show cause? And like that he stayed back not wanting to test anything

No I think Evans knew how to play the game and did it all behind Franks back. Imo Frank would have fired him on the spot if he had known.

I think Frank definitely knew. But Evans made sure that there was no evidence against Frank.
And this scared Frank big time

Thats an interesting take. I think Frank has integrity which is the main reason his recruiting sucked.
