That place was the bomb in its day twenty years ago. I used to love that software they ran over there ... it was really the first big time high traffic BBS out there along with the Washington Huskies site and maybe VolTalk to some degree. GatorCountry launched shortly afterwards but it's always been tame compared .... and, of course, Tiger Rant started-up not long after. USCCocks dot com, then Gamecock Sports and Gamecock Nation around 1996 then the FGF abomination in 98 I think it was. By '98 boards were booming everywhere.

No. I have never been banned on CT. CNB is not banned on CT. IIRC most of us are not banned on CT.

I sort of expect to be banned now, given the past pettiness of CT moderators, but painting us as all as CT castaways is incorrect and disingenuous. Most of us left because we don't like the culture of CT and that culture is worthy of critique.

Nobody said this. Personally I've said that I enjoy CT's format and prefer it to this one. I want to post on a CT that isn't run like the personal garden of its moderators, I want to post on a CT that isn't a gigantic Bukkake session to satiate Spur's cum fixation, I want to post on CT because it is the flagship forum of USC fans online - but I can't because of their terrible leadership. You can see it with Spur's poor moderation, you can see it when looking at old threads and notice nearly half of the posters have been banned over the years, and you can see it when a covert bitcoin mining script hijacked visitors' machines and took the site down for half a month. It is not a well run website.

This board and CT exist in two different ecosystems; smack vs. homer. They fill two different niches. We've never claimed to be better than CT for curing the homer itch. We're not going to get a baseball forum, a basketball forum, or a recruiting forum, those things aren't coming. This is the lounge for USC fans on the larger site to hang out and specifically talk about SC sports and issues. The sites have different roles.

Yeeeeeeeep just what I thought. 50+ years old and judging by his lack of affiliation, his atrocious reading comprehension skills, and his inability to post paragraphs I'm going to assume he's also a side-walker. CT is rapidly becoming the convalescent home for our less intelligent older generation. Young fans aren't going there and they know it...they're staying on twitter, they're going on reddit, or they're going to sites with younger more entertaining cultures like this one. I feel bad for the ones who do end up on CT only to get banned in under a year for posting in a way that completely flies over the heads of Spur's out-of-touch Alzheimer-havin-arse clique.

..and just for the record because I know how they are: I am not saying that the site admin knowingly incorporated the malicious script in to their code, I don't know that and while it wouldn't surprise me, more than likely it happened without their knowledge. At the very best they are negligent and at the very worst they are abusive. These things don't happen to most boards, this didn't happen to huskerboard, or tidefans, or buckeyeplanet but it did happen to CockyTalk and that says something about its leadership.

Also the story they're going with is that the mining script was in an ad from a third party ad delivery system, yeaok.gif. A two week off-time to address a problem with ad delivery? That's super believable.

For what it's worth I don't think he posts there anymore either. As far as I am aware, he posts exclusively on the 247 Blue boards now which is like the rant on steroids in its viciousness and size, given that any fan from any team with paid access can post there I believe. I've read some samples, too mean for my blood. The rant is a happy medium between 100% sunshine pumping and outright total cynicism and human garbage.

Edit: agree, I wish he would come back but the mods here banned him one too many times. He turned his back on the rant, was too much restriction for him here which is saying something.

Edit 2: HAHAHA I just realized the 'normal post' cited above is CIYE. Too funny, hope you see this bud and head on back.

Reminds me of a Christmas TV show when I was a young teenager in '64 or '65 ... had this part in it about the island of misfit toys.

SOS is a different kinda guy is one of those fans that hates Clemson more than he likes USC. Seems kinda inbred to me too doesn't leave Columbia much.

And I do miss CT, I'll admit it. this board (the gamecock one) just doesn't get the same kind of volume that CT does. Remember who I am and what I am. I need fast pace shite moving at all time. The Rant does, this board doesn't.


Basically I lost it and went off the rails when Spurt quit because of the fans freaking out over a 3-9 season.
