Anyone know what this is about? The article mentions the lawsuit their previous coach initiated regarding his firing and Chads hiring.

quote:

The College of Charleston has asked an outside law firm to investigate the Cougars’ baseball program, the school confirmed Thursday.

“College officials will have no further comment until that review has concluded,” the CofC statement said.

“We appreciate Head Baseball Coach Chad Holbrook’s continued and full cooperation in this matter.” The investigation was first reported by the website fitsnews.

An e-mail obtained by The Post and Courier indicates that the Columbia law firm is Gignilliat, Savitz & Bettis, which specializes in employment and labor law.

It would have been stupid for CofC to fire anyone just because they wanted to hire Holbrook. The guy is just not a good coach.

since its Chad, id be very okay with him getting caught for cheating or something. I just dont like the guy

Do you even know him or his family? Have you ever had a conversation with any of them? I have and he is a good father and husband and has helped raise thousands of dollars for cancer research. You don't like him because of his failure as our coach yet " you don't like the guy" that you probably don't even know.

Nope, have never met him. I am good friends with a former baseball coach in the area who had a few guys play for holbrook that stated those players reported the way he ran his practices was incredibly lazy. He is absolutely my least favorite gamecock coach we have ever had.

to CNB, I have never taken the time to try to link someone on twitter to their message board accounts....but good work I suppose. I still stand by any "twitter rant" I ever had about Frank Martin specifically. watching our basketball team the last 10 years (except for 2 of those) was not a fun experience

That's what I thought. Judging anyone without knowing them is a serious lack of maturity. I hope no one does the same to you.

plenty of people get judged without anyone knowing them, especially in a position driven by results. Its absolutely fair that I don't like the guy because of the way he hurt our program.

You may like Chad, so you stick up for him. Do you do the same for Martin, Muschamp, or Tanner? I know first hand that Tanner is a class act, and have had 2 friends work under Champ and Martin and say nothing but amazing things about them as people. Yet people judge Tanner and Champ often on here. Have you been guilty of that yourself?

Edit: just had to check the Ray Tanner thread quickly to see you said "F Ray" . His foundation has done great things for people all over our state.

I guess if you're an immature child then it's normal but to judge Anyone, without any personal knowledge of the individual, shows a serious character flaw. I know Ray Tanner and think he is a good man but an extremely poor AD... doesn't change the fact that he is a good man.

Coaches get judged by their coaching ability but you don't hate someone because of that. You can hate their coaching ability but if you personally don't know someone then best to stfu about them.

Original quote by me. "I just don't like the guy" . somehow that equates to "I hate him????

"F Ray Tanner" is somehow better to say than "I just don't like the guy"?

Being object here, arent you being a little hypocritical? What youre preaching to me is honestly very true, and maybe I should step back and look at how I think of past coaches that havent done their jobs winning ballgames...but shouldnt you too?

I am not sure you can say you think Ray is a good man, but not admit that saying "F Ray Tanner" is over the top?

does this also apply to other public figures like politicians, pro athletes, media, etc?

Maybe you don't understand English. Saying"I don't like the guy" means you know him and don't like him as a person. You should have said " I don't like him as a coach ". Again if you don't know someone personally then best to stfu.
