With all the shitposting about losing thornwell and dozier, these guys are looking good early.

Yeah, they're looking solid.

I don't know how Frank Martin finds these guys, but Justin Minaya looks like he will be a really good player.

He's great at recruiting international players, too. He's found some gems!

Yeah, that's why I'm starting not to be too concerned with the lack of 5 stars with his recruiting.

Don't get me wrong, I'd love to have 5 star players and I'm sure the coaching staff would, too. But, Martin has shown that he can develop these under-appreciated guys that don't get much attention on the recruiting trail.

Lower rated guys who play good defense and have experience at the college level negate some of the higher start guys from other teams.

I think Martin does better with guys who aren't pampered divas. He needs effort and desire more than talent, and a lot of these AAU stars don't want to work. Herb Brooks was like that- hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work hard.

Booker, Beatty, Gravett, and Holden were all impressive, but this is Chris Silva's team. His effort and quiet leadership is what will set the tone for the season. I don't think it's coincidence that the team went on a 12-0 run after his effort block.

A little disappointed with the unveiling ceremony (or lack thereof) of our Final 4 banner yesterday. Should've been a huge deal for a school like us and I feel like I heard hardly anything about it.

As for the team, I liked what I saw. Some patches of inexperience showed, but they definitely still have that hustle element that served us so well last year. Beatty should develop nicely.

It should've been unveiled at halftime to maximize on attendance and SECN coverage. Just my opinion.

Looked pretty empty too.

Maybe an 8PM Monday Night game wasn't the best time to unveil it?

The future is bright and as this team gels, I believe they'll surprise some people.

I can't believe people wanted to run him off after his first couple of seasons.

Frank Martin is the absolute perfect fit at South Carolina.

Muschamp has these qualities, as well. Perhaps Tanner used Martin as a template of what he was looking for in a football coach after Herman and Smart said no?

I disagree.

Because I still feel had he not had this success Tanner was not a fan of him.

Especially his yelling.

The program really took off after Martin's suspension, and subsequent "calming down."

Muschamp is a different person from his Auburn meltdowns just two years ago. If Tanner is a coach first, maybe he's coached both men to be the most successful versions of themselves that they can be.

Watch Champ's post-UF press conference. He gets choked up talking about his former players just like Martin does. Martin and Muschamp have several key similarities- and they're attributes that Holbrook didn't have. Not saying that they're carbon copies, just that there may be some purpose behind it.

What was that? I literally have no idea how this guy was?

Wasn't he supposed to be a homerun?
