First off he implores the fans to show up and we do that..sc fans are eager to do their part.

Then he says that fans should "find some joy and that the players are working hard".

This guy's skin is too thin. nobody that I know has ever been critical of individual players work ethic on a consistent basis.

If I was allowed to respond to that statement I would have told him "the fans have no problems with effort put forth by players . but the game plan that you and your staff put forth on a consistent basis robs us of joy".

Exactly..but don't bring the fans into your coachspeak.

He has enough on his plate than to address the mindset of the fans.

Every coach in the nation, including Beamer, has to walk a fine line between motivating and supporting his players, and keeping his bosses, the fans, happy. This is nothing more than him walking that line.

its still better than how some former coaches have spoke to our fans through press conferences.

I agree its his first speaking mishap, but I think he will be fine overall. I wouldnt be shocked to see him apologize for it.

I don't understand this Shane Beamer shift from "we love the fans" to " we love the fans that support us blindly" . It honestly could be his downfall should these next 3 games go poorly but...

Ben portnoy tweeted
" womens soccer coach Shelley Smith visiting with Shane Beamer and Todd Ellis.

Talking about building a team over time and winning the SEC tourney last weekend.

Ellis: "It takes a long time to build a successful program"

Beamer: "Say that louder for the people in the back"

"

I know its not much, but still...Its enough to get a reaction from media, and a reaction from fans. Dangerous game he is playing imo

Y’all sensitive

He could say he’s gonna put his dick in my grandmothers soup and I’d root for the guy as long he wins football games

That’s all that matters.

I dont disagree CNB. If he wins it doesnt matter, but if he starts losing, it will matter.

As of right now he's losing. Our best wins are against Ga St. a shitty 4&8 team, and a Kentucky team that lost to Vandy.

Vegas picked our over/under wins at 5.5. So according to them, we are right on track. But that's not the issue.

The issue to me is HOW we lost to Missouri and UF. It was UGLY. I'll give us a pass on UGA. We simply aren't in their league. I'll also forgive an early season loss to arky on the road. But we should be able to at least play with the mid pack teams in our division. We've struggled to do that 2 of the past 3 weeks.

I love coach Beamer and think he's the perfect coach for our school. BUT he's got to figure out the offensive side of the ball. I'd classify myself as a patient and understanding type of fan. But even fans like me won't put up with this for much longer.

He spent a significant part of his presser today walking back that comment.

The more I hear Beamer spin talk the less I like him. The boy has an ego for sure.
We were sold on Beamer being the CEO and bringing in top coordinators. We were lied to. How long would a CEO of a multimillion dollar company have a job if there were 8 quarters of mediocrity?

Agree with sosfan on this.

The issue with him is that his ego is so big that he will spew off again if wins a game that matters.

He can't help it. Hopefully now he just worries about coaching.
