I respect you are friends with Chad's family, but there were many who were not happy with his hiring, and I was one. It was the equivalent of Miami hiring Larry Coker. You don't turn the top program in the country over to a guy with no experience, no matter how good an assistant he was.

It was a terrible hire, and quite a few people said that from the beginning. The damage done to the program was immense. He may be a great guy, but it was the wrong job at the wrong time for him. When Saban leaves Alabama they aren't hiring his assistant. You don't do good old boy stuff like that when you are the top program in a sport.

Go back and reread my post. I didn’t type that I thought it was a bad hire. Some screamed about it after the fact but at the time it appeared to be a good hire.

BTW I’ve known Chad since his first day here and was a strong defender of his until his final two seasons. My post history on this board will prove that. I remember exactly the day he did something, in a game, that finally proved he was in over his head. Guy was a helluva recruiter though no doubt. I donated heavily to his Foundation. I served as a fundraiser. I sat down and broke bread with the man several times and still hold him in high regard as a human being.

But there were always questions by some about his demeanor and Xs and Os skills. Plus he had to be forced into the dugout and outta the 3rd base box. The parallel has been made, many times, of Skip being the CiW after Lou left but McGee was strong enough to recognize the issues and make a command decision to bring Spurrier in instead. Some believe Tanner had other, better, options. I’m not a hindsight 20/20 guy ... I thought it was a good hire at the time. So don’t put words in my mouth slick.

Why do you say CT is a shite show when you have clearly posted that you never go on there? There are more than one cross over posters than just me. Look your info about the 12th game and how quick the info changed would have gotten you shite on any forum. Trust me as I had to eat crow by posting your info on CT about there not being a game.

There isn't any and I've only seen akron on here. I posted, that a insider in another board , was told there wasn't go to be a 12th game and most of the reliable posters on CT said there was going to be one and Muschamp confirmed. It's just pretty amazing that, according to you, things changed in 48 hours due to hell raising from supporters. I've, in the past, quoted you as being a reliable source.
