3* TE, Evan Hinson, commits to SC after So Cal OV. He OV'd here on 1/15 and to So Cal last weekend. He's our 24th commit.
Big receiving TE specialist, needs to add weight to help with blocking. Former Miami commit, he de-commited the day we offered.
https://www.hudl.com/athlete/2033487/highlights/315477408/v2
Here are his SR Highlights, His Jr Yr Highlights are available as well.
From what I saw, he's much more elusive than I expected him to be at that height. He is probably a legit 6'5" In a foot race, I think he would beat Keil Pollard, I think he's probably a little faster than him (probably somewhere in the 4.6's) He has good hands and uses his body well. i bet he plays basketball too, b/c he can 'box out' the DBs/LBs well. Decent jump, but Pollard showed higher jumps on his reel. Did a really good job of being aware of the sidelines on several corner endzone TD's and he got his feet down. Not easy to bring down either, but he was playing against HS teams, and he was often one of the bigger guys on the field.
Didn't show a lot of him blocking, but his defensive highlights showed real aggression. He suplexed one kid and they showed it twice.
Just overall a really solid athlete, I get why SoCal and Miami offered.

I would like to think my post on tSouthCarolina page on TE's needing to come here had everything to do with the commitment.

Picked up a CB for Karamo Dioubate from JC Shururtt. Supposed to his final visit this weekend.

Not visiting South Carolina this weekend, going to West Virginia. I was told prior to Tyren Jones committing that USC wanted Jones and Crawford was an insurance policy type.

I have a good feeling about Banks too. Kid is a playmaker.

So we're going to take three more, place one or two, and sign a class of 24 that we should expect to enroll this summer.
Who's it going to be?
We got our pool numbers today on the final class ranking. I just got the email.
I got numbers 22 and 18. I'm hoping both of them are in the money but I'm really hoping our class ranking jumps up to 22 and I hit the jackpot.

In order for it to hit #22, we're going to need a 5* surprise or three 4*'s. I don't think that's in the cards though if we're just signing 24 Initial Counters (summer enrollees.)
Right now we have 6 EE's and 18 possible Initial Counters, so we'll take about 6 more if we are going to hit that 24 number you mentioned.
Who I think we have a decent to good shot at to close with:
4* DT Karamo Dioubate
3* WR Kiel Pollard
3* S Daniel Thomas
3* DT/SDE Jamil Dukes (sign and place)
3* SDE Mykelle McDaniel
3* WDE Jacoby HIll
Those 6 guys would make the 24 Initial Counters and get us to about 218.5 pts, which would let us squeak in at 25th, maybe as high as 24th. As I mentioned, we'd need a couple surprise mid to mid/high 4*'s or a 5" to have a shot of getting at 22nd or higher.
Then we have some guys on the bubble who we are either waiting on to see who they choose, or we'll send a LOI letter to IF we miss or lose someone else. (this is all hypothetical and I have no inside knowledge, just guessing.)
4* DT Stephon Taylor OV'ing the 29th
3* WR Randrecous Davis OV'ing the 29th
3* Korey Banks OV'ing the 29th
3* ATH Jeriko Morris OV'ing the 29th
4* JUCO WR Javon Wims
2* ATH Yafari Werts, OV'd the 22nd, but doesn't have an offer yet.
3* WDE Tyreic Martin
Then there are the long shots
4* WR Sam Bruce (if we flipped him)
3* S Maron Character (if his GF breaks up with him or vice versa before NSD.)
3* ATH Stephen Davis Jr (although I don't think we're really pursuing him at all.)
Just for a complete hypothetical I could pose 2 situations: one where we get the 6 highest rated guys above and 1 where we get the 6 highest rated guys who are not long shots.
IF we got the 6 highest rated guys above:
Bruce, Dioubate, Wims, Taylor, Character, Davis Jr, it would put us at 233 pts on the 247 Composite, and that would be good for about 20th in the rankings.
IF we got the 6 highest rated guys above (excluding long shots:)
Dioubate, Wims, Taylor, Dukes, Pollard, R. Davis, we would be at 225 pts and that would put us at about 21st or 22nd. So that's your best bet to win the lottery you're in.

CiyE thanks! Wish I could give you more than one uparrow!
Owell ... I should finish in the money with both numbers and win two shares so I'll still make money.
Would be great if we are #22 on the 15th though.
If we just finish 25th or higher it will be a major win for this staff. It's just incredible how hard they have worked to get us within range of the Top 25 by today. Just incredible.
Makes imagining what future classes might be like fun to think about.
I was watching Finebaum today before we left to go over and meet The Donald in Gilbert not far from our farm. Luginbill was on and he really didn't give Muschamp and the staff much credit ... when he should have IMHO.

I think a 7-5 ish season next year will give us some major momentum. Build this thing back up one block at a time.

I said that a few weeks ago, this staff is damn good. One of if not the best we've ever had in terms of coaching and recruiting ability. I'm excited for Tuesday for the possibility of a big flip, but re all for a full cycle.
