SC HS Player, James Valdez, 4* CB, #17 CB, #170 Nationally named SC his leader today. He said he won't commit anywhere until after his JR year though.

We have a few great options for a QB in '16. However, the paysites say that Brandon McIlwain is our lead candidate. I watched his highlights, I can see why they would say that. He's also a SC legacy.

He's a legit dual threat QB, but out off all the dual threat QB's we've recruited, he's the best passer. Curious to see how many of Nosovitch's records he might break up in PA.

We lead for Larry Collins

His stock is rising fast this summer. Everywhere he's camped he's got an offer from.

With the way the 2k15 class is going, a strong SEC Championship-style season could turbocharge our 2k16 class

Yes, over a decade. It was Richard Seymour. He went to georgia. He went on to 7 Pro Bowls. He was awesome.

'15 Commit, Mike Bowman, has a little brother, 4* WR Kyran Bowman, who is committed to unc. Kyran is going to visit for games this season, over the summer and next season to see his brother play. There's always a chance for a flip. Flipping him would be great b/c it would also help with 5* LB Joyner who also plays at Havelock.

Brandon McIlwain, stud QB from PA is announcing his top 6 on Tuesday. We have 75% of the CBs on 247, would be shocked if we weren't #1 or 2 on that list. I forget where I heard it but Mangus has been talking to this kid for a good while building a good relationship and hopefully this kid will join the Gamecock Nation eventually.

With some polishing of his throwing motion, this kid could tear it up down here.

ETA: Upon a second watching of McIlwain's tape, the kid needs to work on his footwork in the pocket as well, he has a bad case of happy feet sometimes. Also I thought he forced a ton of throws. Just my observations.

Brandon McIlwain would be the highest rated QB we've got since Garcia and he's much better than Garcia was at this point (even with Garcia's re-classes, wasn't he almost 20 when he came to SC?)

USC is the only offer on the board right now for DE Javon Kinlaw (6-7 260) of Goose Creek and that has the Gamecocks in the lead position for him.

But he also likes Clemson, Florida State and Tennessee.

"It's a close school and it feels like home," Kinlaw said of USC. And he is in touch with recruiter Steve Spurrier Jr. "He just said to work hard and keep my grades up."

So here's the monster DE for the state of SC in the '16 class. If he can keep that weight under 270 lbs and tone up, he could be a great D1 DE.
