It's time for BMac and TRob to work some magic here.
Early test. We'll see what happens.
Bama is playing for a national championship this year. Watching my brother have a chance to wear a Natty ring around the house at all family events (and I probably wouldn't?) would definitely weigh heavily on my mind.

CiYE ... I hope that "non binding" thing means he is waiting on us to clear him.
I know there were some big meetings this morning and compliance was involved so I would bet there are several kids the new staff wanted updates on.
This is the first day back for all departments so things should start rolling again ASAP. They'll get a lot of the paperwork done before the dead period ends and they can hit the road again.
Edited: binging to binding

Yep....I haven't gotten to excited over the Ridley commitment, except that if he was going to be an EE, then he may enroll early which would curtail the recruiting process, and end all the pressure on him.
But I liken this situation to the one about Marlon Humphrey's recruitment a cycle or two ago. His dad played for Bama, and he said all during his process that he wasn't going to follow in his father's footsteps, and wanted to cut a trail and make a name for himself.
Humphrey had USC as one of his top choices for a while, and many Gamecock fans pointed to this as reasons to believe that we stood a good chance to get him.
So where did Humphrey ultimately end up? That's right, you guessed it: he chose Alabama.
It's hard enough competing with the recruiting staff for a program that's winning national titles and having great success. It's even more difficult - if not down-right impossible - to compete with family members and friends that can keep in the prospect's ears and mind and work on him 24/7: they can work on him right when he wakes up in the morning, and right as he goes to bed at night.
You need your family behind you to come to USC: family support to take a chance on a program that's rebuilding, instead of going to the one that's already at the top. If he doesn't have that support, we probably aren't going to get him....

Big time RB looking at Jan 22nd OV to SC.

He was at Bama, got kicked off for weed, went to Hutchinson JUCO, avg'd about 10 yds per carry.

Didn't we offer Treyvon Paulk, too? I saw where they were teammates at Hutchinson CC.

I thought that was the kid we told to wait until February?

Probably an open spot with our situations with Kobe Smith & Cavin Ridley.

Just saw on Twitter where we offered 5-star safety Brandon Jones out of TX. He was heavily recruited by TRob at Auburn.

He had an OV lined up with auburn on Jan 29th, so hopefully we can steal that spot. He's a kid that could come in and definitely be on the 2 Deep next year, if not start. It all depends if we go Diggs/Smith at the 2 starting S spots or if we try to make those guys compete for the same spot.

I read his bio. Top-15 prospect overall, #1 Safety per 247. I also took note of that OV to Auburn, so if we had him visit here last, that would be huge. He is 77% CB to Texas AM, so hopefully the turmoil within their program will give us a shot.

I just watched his HS highlights....and I don't give a shite about how much weed he smoked, this guy can play ball.
I looked up some stats too.
JUCO - 105 Carries, 701 yds, 6.2 Avg, 5 TD's, 12 receptions, 89 yds, 7.4 avg, 8 KOReturns for 200 yds and a 25 yd avg.
LINK
BAMA 2014 - 36 Carries, 224 yds, 6.2 Avg, 2 TD's,
LINK
Walton HS - 4055 Rushing Yds, 49 Rushing TD's,
Here's the career highlight reel, but he also has a 2013 SR season reel as well.

It was from a couple years ago. I bet some bama and Hutchinson coaches worked with him on the things I noticed in the video.
He favors carrying the ball in his right hand too much, he doesn't cover the ball with both hands when he's going through the line. He doesn't keep his shoulders square consistently either. His cuts are often 'jerky' there isn't as much slide/glide as Dowdle or Hyheim Hines do.
He's legitimately a 4.5 speed guy, he's fast and explosive the 1st 10 yards. He's hard to bring down, you can't arm tackle this guy, he has power in his legs. He can make cuts really quickly, his cuts are really good but he's more like a joystick runner. He has elite juke moves and can spin and head juke and just about it all, he's ultra elusive. His vision is better than any RB we have on the roster. He could see the plays and blockers develop and use them really well. He consistently avg's 6.2 ypc on all levels. He is a homerun threat when he gets the ball and past a LB.
Rico Dowdle is extremely underrated in this class, but he'll need a year to be ready for SEC ball. Tyren could come in and start this season, we don't have anyone with his speed/vision and strength on the roster. Plus he most likely got excellent coaching at bama and Hutchinson.

No one on Auburn's side felt like AU had even a remote shot with Brandon Jones. With TAMU becoming a dumpster fire, you may have a shot though

Just reporting that TRob was his recruiter, and his last OV (January 29) was set with Auburn.
Posted on 1/5/16 at 9:33 pm to UpstateCock2007
TRob offered a 4* CB, Kristian Fulton, today.
He's predicted to go to lsu, but with their change in DC and Miles on the hot seat, we may have a chance to get an OV and get him to consider us.

Muschamp's legend of closing strong will be put to the test this year, no doubt. If we can just finish with a top 20 class it would be a huge win for this staff.
Posted on 1/5/16 at 9:57 pm to scrooster
I'd settle for Top25. If we actually break the Top20, he should win Recruiter of the Year for taking us from 71st to Top 8 weeks.

He is OV'ing to us on the 15th, and he just got an invite to OV at bama on the 22nd.
His stock is rising quickly.
