New offer passed about by staff, 2* S Daniel Thomas:

quote:

“He wanted to offer me at Auburn but they had a person in front of me,” Thomas said. “He likes how I go and get the ball.”

“It was the first SEC field I was ever on,” Thomas said. “South Carolina is definitely in my top list with Middle Tennessee, UAB and Georgia Southern.”

Thomas has had 81 tackles & 7 INTs, will take an OV in January.

Dare I ask ... but who is the girl between Bentley and McIlwain? It is definitely not Bobby's wife. I wonder if we re-instituted the hostess program this weekend?

Well first off, that's definitely not McIlwain.

Call me crazy, but if Roper and Bentley can get Feaster in for an OV, he'll flip.

And this would be a hell of a coup. Tater fans would be real rustled.

Bryan Edwards Update:

quote:

Bryan Edwards said he hopes to make a decision soon. Said he hoped to have one tomorrow, but he really isn't sure.

Said he doesn't have a favorite right now between South Carolina and Clemson.

They talked about wide receivers coaches and he liked some of the options that Muschamp mentioned. He wouldn't name names but said the fans will really like who Muschamp was talking about.

He said he's versatile and felt like he would be a fit in the offense.

Said he likes wide receiver but wouldn't exclude playing defense either.

Brandon McIlwain Update:

quote:

-- Brandon McIlwain told me that he's going to get home and take a little bit of time to process what he wants to do with his future. He said the coaches obviously expressed their desire for him to enroll early and said how he has a great opportunity. While he doesn't have a timeframe to make a decision, he said he wants to do it very soon.

-- McIlwain would not rule out other schools. He said that he is weighing everything.

-- He was very excited about the offense that Kurt Roper is going to run. He said that he really enjoyed his interaction with the coaching staff.

-- As far as quarterback recruiting, he said the point was emphasized to him over and over again this weekend that he was South Carolina's guy.

Quotes from BM in 1-on-1 interview with JW:
quote:

“It was a great visit and I had a lot of fun,” McIlwain said. “I got to spend time with the coaching staff, get to know them better and spend time with the guys I am going to play with.”

“I think I’ll fit in great in the offense,” McIlwain said. “It’s similar to the things I did in high school, but just more complex. It’s very exciting. He’s a great teacher of the game and I’m really excited to play for him.”

They told me I’m their guy,” McIlwain said. “They recruited me at Florida and told me I was their guy there and that hasn’t changed. They said I’m a really big part of this class, they’re really excited and I’m really excited too.”

“They want me to enroll early,” McIlwain said. “It’s a great opportunity for a quarterback to get extra reps. More time around the team, more time around the coaches and start learning the playbook.”

“I’m going to go home and talk to my parents and we’ll figure something out in the near future,” McIlwain said. “I don’t have a specific timeline but I want to get it done as soon as possible. I want to figure out what I’m going to do so I can start preparing for the next step.”

“I love South Carolina,” McIlwain said. “I’m still going through the process and being sure everything is right. I’m going to go home and talk to my parents about it. I had an amazing time, the visit was great and I got a lot more information and knowledge from the coaching staff."

“We all (recruits) have a good relationship and had a lot of fun together,” McIlwain said. “We all loved it. It was a great experience and it was good to get to know those guys that I’m going to play with.”

More info on McIlwain & QB's:
quote:

I understand the South Carolina staff told Brandon McIlwain and his family that they plan to sign two quarterbacks in the 2016 class and two quarterbacks in the 2017 class, assuming one of the current quarterbacks transfers. McIlwain is fine with that.

He is expected to make his decision in the next three to four days as to whether he will enroll in January. The football staff made it clear they want him to compete for the starting spot from day one. Chad Holbrook wants him to compete for an open outfield spot right away as well.

I don't see any other school being a real option here. The only question is whether he will enroll in January or defer to the spring.

Current Arky Commit & SC target 3* WR Kiel Pollard isn't 100% committed to Arkansas:

quote:

“I’m not 100 percent,” Pollard told SEC Country. “I’m going to take a couple of weeks and make sure I’m at the right place for my next four years.”

“They just told me that I had an offer from them,” Pollard said. “Will Muschamp told me he was liking me ever since he was at Florida. It’s a great feeling to get an offer from them.”

Can't find her on a recent roster LINK .... she definitely resembles my second oldest daughter in that picture, it's uncanny. Just sent it to her mother and her and they've both responded with "find out who she is."

The little Tyler Kirkpatrick girl ... we know her family very well. She's a Chapin girl we've known since she was a baby. Her parents are wild, good people.

Do we have room to take 6-8 early enrollees?

We need them, we do, but I'm wondering where our roster numbers line up with regard to that many early enrollees.

We would have had to have used only 77 schollies during the course of this past season.

No other school can match what we can offer Brandon -- playing QB in the SEC and playing for one of the best baseball programs in the nation.

Rooster...that's just the coeds.

We have all-girls, as well.

All-girls used to be separated into two squads: The Black Squad and The Garnet Squad. Pretty sure it's still done like this.

1-on-1 with Bryan Edwards:
quote:

“I have to sit down and think about it all,” Edwards said following his visit to Columbia. “These are two great schools and both are in state. I know I won’t make a bad choice going to either school. It’s been real tough for me the past couple of weeks. I’ve been trying to dodge interviews because I don’t even know what I want do.”

“I’d like to make a decision tomorrow but I don’t know,” Edwards said. “It just depends on how I feel, but definitely soon. I’ll probably just call the coaches and announce on Twitter or something like that.”

“Wide receiver is what I like to do, it’s where I feel comfortable,” Edwards said. “At the same time, I’m not against playing on the opposite side of the ball. I know I’m an athlete and I can do a lot of things on the field. Wide receiver is where I feel comfortable.”

“I got a great feel,” Edwards said. “I sat and talked with Coach Roper and we just talked football, talked offense and stuff like that. I feel like I’m a very versatile player so I could fit in a lot of systems. I feel real comfortable doing what they were talking about.”

“Where I fit on the field and off the field,” Edwards said. “Fitting in with the players, fitting in with the guys and feeling at home. I’m looking for where I want to spend the next four years as a player and a student.”

“I talked to Brandon a lot,” Edwards said. “Everywhere I went, he was right beside me. We had a good time together and we talked a lot. Him and CJ were both working me. They’ve been on me, kind of.”

We talked about receivers coach,” Edwards said. “They threw some names at me, but that’s between me and Coach Muschamp. I definitely liked the names. Some pretty cool guys and I think the fans will like it too.”

“My knee is doing real good,” Edwards said. “I’ve been doing underwater running, so it’s coming along. I’m about two weeks ahead of schedule. I’ll be full-go for spring practice.”
