This is the base that has all the missing soldiers right? Sounds like a logical move.

I worked for MG Efflandt. One of the best officers I've ever known, man of complete integrity.

LTG White is the actual III COrps / Fort Hood commaner but is in Iraq / Kuwait so he dodged it.

Efflandt did the press conference for the Guillen case and is the face of it so he's the fall guy. Sucks but it's how the Army works.

Also Fort Hood averages 35-45 deaths a year this year isn't an anomaly. The Guillen case was just high profile so every death there is now national news.

Fort Hood hasn't changed just had a high profile case that shined the spotlight on it.

Killeen is a shithole full of criminals and it's always been that way. The Fort Hood blotter is insane.

The Deputy Corps commander has little to no say in a handful of criminal cases at the Army's biggest post.

He was supposed to take command of 1AD / Bliss. Who the CG is has minimal impact on your life there.

Make sure to check out Cattlemans Steakhouse, L&J Tacos, The Hoppy Monk, and if you like ice hockey go to the El Paso Rhinos games there are fights galore and they come out and at intermissions and shoot burritos into the stands with a t-shirt cannon.

I was at Hood in the 90's. I liked that it was close to Austin.... It's a huge base with very well trained Soldiers stationed there. 1st Cav, Hell on Wheels, 4th ID, etc.

Cattlemans Steakhouse

Love that place. It is like a history museum and a steakhouse all in one. Good quality steaks as well.
