And a new team CWS record tv says. In total, game featured 39? Strikeouts both teams combined.

The old record was 31 and that was from a 15 inning game we had 39 in 9 innings

Previous 9-inning record for one team was 19 by Miami against Clemson in 1996.

Most by one player was 20 by Steve Arlin in 1965 in that 15 inning game. Most by one player in a 9 inning game is still Ed Bane with 17 in 1972. I believe Brett Laxton of LSU still has the record for a championship game with 16 in 1993.

Previous combined record for both teams in a 9 inning game was 27 for Arkansas v Oregon State in the 2018 title series. The record for any game was 31 by Santa Clara v Michigan in a 15 inning game in 1962.

33 strikeouts combined for both teams last night was freaking absurd. I remember Stratton for State and Gausman having like 30 combined back in a regular season game in 2012-ish and thought that was ridiculous.

Here's a link to all CWs records entering this season
