I’m actually starting to think the opposite, but it’s not just because of my view that much of this is political.
Boat races, rodeos and other outdoor events that haven’t cancelled have seen record-breaking attendance. That tells me people are just waiting for someone to step up and show they have some stones.
Sure, the virtue signalers will be out in full force, but their shite has gotten stale with the silent majority. Their voices are starting to be ignored.

I agree, it could be a huge boon for eyeballs and ratings, but I just can't see how those college administrators would be willing to subject themselves to that virtue signaling.
To us as fans it's relatively straightforward, but unfortunately college campuses and their associated leadership sometimes live in a different reality than we do when it comes to public perception and social/political issues.

One of the worst phrases in the English language, furthering the idea that we should or shouldn’t do something solely based on “how it looks to other people”
It was a Joe Alleva/F King Alexander staple btw

They could have complete control of scheduling and TV rights from Thurs -Sat and would still manage to triple stack key games and perpetuate 1100 AM kickoffs

Rutgers has 15 positive cases on their team and the entire team is in a two-week quarantine. Combine that with a couple of governors who might likely shut t down in their states. If the B1G doesn't play, no one should be surprised.
The cases were traced back to a party the players attended...against team rules. So shut down Rutgers football, not the entire conference. Who would miss them?

At the very least, be shocked if the Big Ten starts playing football before late September.

Is it too late for Justin Fields to transfer to Auburn?

So the Big 10 is no different than the SEC.
SEC isn’t playing until late September. And of course it’s still possible the entire season is cancelled.
This is only news if they cancel fall practice

Yeah, it is interesting with the later SEC start if we now see any other conferences push their openers back, like Fiutak is sort of implying there.
