You are correct. People think that because they follow the NBA that he’s nationally visible.

Even Devonta Freeman is probably more visible nationally and he wears a helmet.

This thread was useful to identify who fit the ven-diagram of (1) dumb southerners and (2) people who don't get out much. Thanks, bros.

50 piece on Quavo night. Win over Miami. Hell of a game to watch. Major props to Hunter and Reddish who played a big part in the W as well.

And those who think the NBA is shite

A little sensitive to anyone who disagrees with you evidently. Typical.

About as sensitive as some people whenever the NBA is mentioned. Which by the way, has nothing to do with how recognizable individual players are.

What? On one of the shittiest teams in the NBA in a sport that's way behind MLB and NFL in revenue and the 4th most popular team in Atlanta.

Way behind Acuna,Albies,Ryan,Julio

Do ya really want to compare the Falcons and Braves ratings vs the Hawks?

GTFO!

Now, I suppose you can argue if it’s justified or not given the poor record of the team, but the OP is correct to an extent. There are a lot of kids that like watching Trae Young play because his playstyle can be fun to watch. Hell, for an example that’s prominent, about a couple months back, Kobe said his first trip to Staples in 19/20 was not to watch the Lakers, but for his daughter to get to watch her favorite player, who was Trae (it’s sad that they’re gone).

The Hawks might be (probably are) the worst TV/attendance draws in sports in Atlanta/the state, but Trae Young’s fun looking playstyle has been getting draw, whether you want to believe it or not. It's just not all coming from Georgia, it's coming from other sources, like Kobe's kid when she was alive, Minneapolis kids (supposedly a fair amount of parents that were Wolves fans took their kids to a recent Hawks-Wolves games just because the kids really wanted to see Trae), etc.

Just because you think that the NBA is shite doesn't make Trae irrelevant. The dude literally led the eastern conference guards in fan votes. Dude has more insta followers than Julio and Matt combined. Trae Young is a NATIONAL name. His 50 point game has been on youtube for 3 days and almost has 700K views.

I'm not really sure why you are fighting this fight because you are flat out wrong. You are letting your hate for the NBA cloud your decision. Its okay if you hate the NBA, but a lot of people really like it and it does a great job of marketing its players, especially the ones having historic seasons.

Trae is THE biggest name in Atlanta right now, and IMO it isn't particularly close.

No he isn't ,NBA is the least most popular sport BY FAR in the country and in Atlanta.NOBODY GAS about a 17 win team.

What exactly had he done to improve the win total on this team?

Are you really going with Instagram followers to stat your case?

MSB? This is going to trigger some people on here. Just scroll up to see someone arguing that Matt Ryan is a bigger name than Trae
