Son told me he read that Mitchell Smith is testing the NBA waters. Obviously hasn't hired an agent so he will be back, but it gave me a good laugh in these stressful times.

Think Pinson and Tilmon are also at least testing the waters.

It's an April Fool's joke. Has to be.

It’s a free evaluation. Doesn’t hurt anything. His shot was inconsistent but the stroke looks smooth. Will he be an NBA player? Probably not. When you’re a 6 10 guy who can maybe draw interest as a 3 and D guy and have aspirations to play in the NBA you should get the free eval done. Especially if you take that feedback and work on your shortcomings that they identify. I say good for him.

I didn't say there was any harm in it. I just got a good laugh about it. Hell, I might as well get a free look at myself as well.

I can help him out a bit. Put about 40 pounds of good weight on. Shoot 10,000 shots a day. Make it 20,000. Dribble everywhere you go. When you lay your head down at night, put in a Larry Bird Basketball IQ audio book and listen in your sleep.

In all seriousness, kudos for him trying hard. I do appreciate the effort. He just has a lot of work to do if that's his aspiration.

If two of these three get on an NBA roster or a D league roster then HCCM has to go. You have talent that can get paid legally for playing basketball and that is the product you produce on the court?!?!?

Mitch is towards the bottom of the list, but most college players should get this done anyway.
