But it’s one of the most pointless conference championships. And I’d say that’s pretty much fact. The only thing it really affects is preferable seeding. And even then, garbage teams can sometimes luck out and win their conference while a top team sits at home waiting to get a 2-3 seed instead of a 1 seed. If this was the pros, that would be a different story. But it’s college, and records don’t matter past .500 if you have a brand on your name.
