The coach you shouldn't have fired when you did?

What coach did your program fire prematurely? Not necessarily because they were doing well enough to stay, but maybe they just had a rough patch and the Big Money Donors were impatient.

For A&M, I think Slocum is a pretty clear choice. We fell way behind in facilities just as Mack and Stoops were ramping up. RC did himself no favors with a plodding offense, though.

Would have said Les for LSU, but Eaux seems to have put that to bed this year.

David Cutcliff at ole miss. Went to the cotton bowl and won, Eli graduated and had a losing season the following year and was subsequently fired.

Will be Matt Luke. Ole Miss could be good in a year or two.

How tall do you think Saban is on date night when Orgeron makes him wear stilettos?

If we had to pick one it would be Biff Jones, who was 20-5-2 at LSU between 32 and 34. Got on the wrong side of Huey and was sent packing. He went on to win 2 Big 8 titles at Nebraska pre-Devany.

Huey had lined up Frank Thomas to leave Alabama but had to wait for him to bring his team back vu train from the Rose Bowl to inform the team and his superiors. In the interim Huey was talked into hiring Bernie Moore instead, who ended up having a pretty good tenure at LSU and in on the college football hall of fame. He was also the first SEC Commissioner. More or less worked out all around but Huey should have stuck with Frank.

A more detailed write up of the situation:

I would have given Richt another year to make it work. Pruitt was building a great defense and we had a lot of key talent on offense. Kirby took those players and came within a play of winning a national title 2 years later.
On the other hand, it's worked out for us.

Some people have a pretty hilariously impassioned hatred for the guy, but I have no idea what anyone expected him to do with the shite show he inherited in the wake of harsh NCAA penalties.
