40 points is what I think he said. If this holds it will set a record for the highest spread for a college game ever. I have no link and don't have time to look this up

Neither of the things you said are true.
(1) The spread is higher than 40 (it opened at +46)
(2) It wouldn't even be the highest spread of the last 2 weeks (Ohio State was >50 pt favorite vs Rutgers last weekend)

Highest spread in an SEC game in a long time, not all-time.
And yeah it opened up around 46, not 40.

In 2012 FSU was a 70.5 favorite over Savannah State. They did not cover.

Hijacking this thread mabe but Finebaum, in his show's first hour, made it seem like Tau had died. "Everyone in college football is deeply saddened, almost in mourning". No tears apparent but he was as somber as I ever seen him. FWIW, it's being repoted that Tau shoukd make a full rrecovery.
