We can post up some things here we hear so no one has to go hunting for the big shite.

Jaylin Dickerson out for the season, bone growth. Has to have surgery, will be ready for next spring.

Been really excited for him, but he may never have a chance to develop here. I guess with a Grayshirt he can get two more years after this ?

Isn't Jaylin the safety that they were big on? Depletes our secondary even more.

If Sorrells gets in, he will still have to sit a year. Academic redshirt.

That would be wonderful but everything I've read says he will have to sit.

I think you heard that wrong. Muschamp said he feels good about getting him in for this year, not necessarily that he'd qualify to play.

Getting him in is half the battle.

I only watched mUSChamp live as it happened but I recorded it so my Son and I can watch it again together when he gets home from the golf course.

The one glaring thing I took away from what I heard was that mUSChamp believes this is his best team yet and he believes he has some quality depth.

I thought he handled the Hammond question well.

I am left wondering how they are going to use Urich.

He seems to relish the "tough schedule" cliche being slung around. That's how very competitive people with warrior mentalities deal with these sort of things and I like that a lot.

He has a good sense of humor and he addressed his rep as a mad man with aplomb and humor.

We'll be practicing in no time.

This dude has my sleeper pick along with tyreek Johnson. No ones talked about that guy much and muschamp saw enough from him to bring him up in the presser

If we can get Sorrells in school that it'sself will be a victory. He can take Kinlaws place in 2020.

it's over-hyped by the media. the 3 'biggest' games this season occur in 3 different months - 2 of the 3 are at W-B...and USC has a bye week prior to 2 of them. Charleston Southern comes to Columbia the weekend before ALA as well.

Carolina played a far more difficult schedule in 2012 when we faced #5 UGA at W-B, #9 LSU in Death Valley and #3 Florida in the Swamp over three consecutive weekends. UGA was AP preseason #6, LSU #9 and UF #23.

the Gamecocks won the lone home game and dropped the 2 road games and managed to handle the rest of the SEC slate in 2012. I suspect a healthy 2019 team with its experience will find a way to work around the 3 big games this season - no matter their outcome - as well.

--------------------

Auburn has the worst schedule (by design) in the league this year and it's not even close. Tigers get 1 home game and play all 4 of their SEC road games over a 6 weekend stretch from Sept 21 through Oct 26.

S21 at Texas AM
S29 Miss State
O5 at Florida
O12 bye
O19 at Arkansas
O26 at LSU

AU again closes with Georgia & Alabama in 2 of the final 2 regular season weekends.

----------------

I thought Muschamp carried himself better than any of the other 13 coaches in Hoover last week. He knows - and we know - this is USC's best roster in the trenches on both sides of the ball since 2013.

Hard to over-hype the sos when it has been ranked #1 as the toughest schedule.

I would love to agree with you 1801 and I've posted many times about how tough Auburn's schedule is but what makes our schedule very tough is that we play what, six Top 15 teams?

Georgia and A&M on the road. Mizzou on the road. Tennessee on the road.

Bama, Vandy, Kentucky and Florida at home.

Okay, a lot is going to depend upon how good Florida, Mizzou and Kentucky are this year. Personally I believe Florida may be over hyped, Mizzou I'm not sure about and Kentucky we had better beat, period.

Based on preseason expectations playing Georgia, A&M and Mizzou on the road makes it very tough.

App State is e trap game. Clemson is what it is but we have two reigning conference champs on our OoC in those two. Plus we open with a P5 for in UNC who know one knows what they've got .... we really need to mud hole them.

I do like our off weeks this year.

There is no doubt that, most of us will agree, we have a tough schedule no matter where it is ranked.

I've seen some services rank Stanford's schedule the toughest ... still others rank others the toughest.

IMHO the SEC boasts three of the toughest in the country in Auburn's, A&M's and ours not necessarily in that order.

I'm certainly on board with that - you make a great point about the # of preseason ranked Top 15 teams that appear. that's undeniable. I really like where our games fall on the schedule this season. no back-to-back SEC road weekends for Carolina.

my comment above about 'over-hyping' it was based on the media in Hoover's overall inclination to assign our schedule as some sort of 'death sentence' that Carolina has no chance to handle. I take exception with the folks who were in Hoover trying to bury USC before the season starts based on schedule alone.

Muschamp did a hell of a job talking about our players/program in his opening comments that should have given even the most uniformed person in the room something to talk/ask questions about other than the schedule - or Saban's record vs his former assistants.
