Definitely not new here.

Disagree. Auburn needs a fast start and losing to a Pac 12 team really, really wouldn't sit well with your fans.

You are right. It wouldnt. On a different auburn forum there is a poll which is the most important game for us this season, and Oregon is 1 with A&M being 2.

But the fools who think the first game of the season vs an OOC opponent is more important than the 4th game which is our opening SEC game, which also is the game which will most likely decide 3rd and 4th in the West... Well... What can i say... Idiots... The lot of them

But it doesnt matter... Win or lose vs Oregon his seat is the hottest in the SEC before game 1 and its not even close. But losing to oregon wont really turn up the heat. Losing to A&M will. If we cant beat A&M, we wont beat LSU (which we wont beat them anyway...havent won at LSU this century,) we wont beat UGA, certainly wouldnt beat Bama, we would be in a spot where we are battling Moo State for 4th or 5th in the division. If that happens Gus is toast. And he knows it.

We can lose to Oregon being game 1 and an OOC game and still win every other game on the schedule. We lose to A&M a month into the season and its curtains for the booger eater.

Oregon has 19 scholarship seniors with likely 7 to 8 draft picks from that class. I’ve seen 4 different players in mock drafts in the first round.

Can Oregon win? Absolutely.

What I like in Oregon’s favor is the defense going against a new qb. I have never seen this number of pass rushers at Oregon. It’s an embarrassment of riches.

Anyway, I worry about Herbert playing constipated. It will probably be a shite show.

If Oregon pulls one out “against the run of play” to borrow a soccer term than it’s Auburn doing neurotic things.

That you would even use a soccer reference shows you don't really get it. My little sis is a UO alum, so no offense, but the Pac-12 is already thought of as "soft", so win or lose, respect is earned in large part by whether or not your team gets physically wrecked in the process.

That SEC slogan isn't just marketing; college football is EVERYTHING in this neck of the woods... we don't even have soccer teams.

How much does this move the needle for the PAC 12?

A little bit. But Auburn will go 6-6. I swear any time an outside team beats an SEC team they pound their chest even though they never seem to do anything with that win (Clemson being the lone exception).

A LOT of multiple events.

My concern is Auburn is so neurotic that the storyline will be Malzhan’s hotseat.

"will be" ???

Obviously some of this would come down to how Oregon wins.

Don't worry. Oregon won't. Auburn always beats OOC bottom feeders and mediocre teams early in the season.

So, this is an exercise in abstract thinking. Pretend for a second that Oregon wins and does well in the trenches, what does that do to your perception?

I don’t care what you think will happen.

How did it affect the Conference after AU beat Washington last year ? AU was average at best last year and Washington turned out to be a decent team by PAC12 standards. AU is a better overall team this year and Oregon is pretty much hype at this point. If AU wins than it would be considered status quo, if Oregon wins than it will be considered beating a middle of the road SEC Team. PAC12 needs to win something before anyone gives a shite.

Oregon will be facing a new Offense this year. At least one that hasn't been seen since 2014. We will see how they adjust.
