Ole Miss Softball is 27-10 (7-4 SEC) and is ranked 9th in the nation by Softball America, their highest mark ever. I know OleMissRant pays way more attention to baseball, but our softball team has been pretty damn good as of late and I wanted to show them some love.

We've never paid attention because, outside of 2017, the program might as well have not existed haha.
Mike Smith is incredible, and now that the weather's nice, the games are actually really fun considering there's usually free crawfish on the weekends, free admission with cooler privileges in the outfield, and food trucks and stuff. When I'm in the area and bored, I'm definitely planning on catching some games. Some softball players lived next door to where I'd stay in Oxford last year too, so it was always fun getting their input on the state of the program while we'd finish off my leftover baseball beer

If they keep getting better and better and we talk it up too much, that free admission will go poof.

I dunno. We could be a consensus top 5 team this year, and I'm still not sure people would care enough to pay the $15 per game it costs for conference baseball games. It's a program with literally no legacy, so it'd probably take a few years of consistently being decent to good just to build up enough awareness to start charging people to see the product

They need to basically rebuild the entire stands before they even think about charging for tickets, by SEC standards it's easily the worst softball field.
