I don’t think Jontay comes back, but if he does Cuonzo will have the backcourt to go along with him and Tilmon to be a good team next year.

I thought it was weird that Tray Jackson was given the #11(jontays number).

CM has been pretty transparent. Jontay isn’t coming back.

but why not announce it? whats the point in being transparent, giving away the jersey, recruiting his positional ie and not announcing it?

Also why is Jontay still taking classes

I would think he is waiting for his draft score/grade.

If it is to low he is coming back. He will only be 20 for next years draft.

If he does come back I don’t think it will be on a basketball scholarship. He will come back as a walk-on. His dad knows they will need the scholarship to add players around him. Playing on a better team will make him look better to NBA scouts.

His family has enough money to not need the scholarship.

Jontay would not come back as a walkon

If he came back as a walk-on it would be his decision. It would help him more to give up the scholarship than to keep it.

It would help him to have better players around him and allow him to play on a better team.

In some conferences teams are not allowed to have a player become a walk-on after being on scholarship. The SEC is not one of them.

I agree it’s not happening, but this is “pumping sunshine”.

I know as Mizzou fan we would not be that lucky. I think he will go to the NBA even if he doesn’t like his grade. If he chooses to come back he will take up a scholarship for another year. It would be great if he realizes the team would be better if he is a walk-on. (Pumping sunshine)

You don’t really need Jontay to walkon for Mizzou to be good. You really just need 8-9 legit players 5 guards/wings and 3 bigs.

A front court on Jontay, Tilmon and Jackson would be top tier nationally. Minutes would be hard for anyone else.

Backcourt
Pinson
Mark Smith
Dru Smith
Watson
Pickett
McKinney
McNeil?

Forwards
Tilmon
Jackson

Role players
Suggs
Mitchell Smith
Nikko
Santos

Juniors next year
Santos
Tilmon
Mitchell Smith
Mark Smith
Dru Smith

Seniors next year
Suggs
Nikko

Will Suggs still be on Scholarship?
Will Santos transfer?
Will Jontay be back?

Dru will be a junior.
Jontay won’t be back

I see 3 of what I would call good SEC player.
Dru, Mark and Tilmon.
I’m ok with Pickett, Pinson and Watson as the 5th option.

The key will be Jackson and whoever else is added in the spring.
