I'm not sure if this is correct or not but I think having Breiden on the LSU roster is what got so many LSU signees and targets invited to the game.

The game has not been around very long but this is the first year I remember LSU fans having any interest in the game at all.

Why all of a sudden does LSU have multiple signees invited to Hawaii?

It wasn't because of Siaki Ika. He had been invited to the game long before he decided to attend LSU.

It is doubtful people in Hawaii are just huge LSU fans so the bowl game decided to invite our players.

Kevin Mawae was an inaugural PB hall of fame inductee. He is on the selection committee for the hall of fame. I don't think it is because of him or it would have happened before.

Nope, in my opinion it is because of Breiden Fehoko. Just like Tua getting the Bama guys invited. I'm sure in the past it was mostly West Coast and Utah teams and University of Hawaii who had players invited because they have rosters full of Poly players.

Now that we have Siaki for a few years this may be a trend that continues. But I believe it all began with Fehoko.

Again this is my opinion as I have no idea how they select which high school players to invite. But it does seem that it could be a high possibility of being the reason for multiple players being invited. Fehoko comes to LSU and a year later LSU has all these players invited to the all-star game. And LSU had more signees invited that didn't attend the game.

Up until a few years ago big schools didn't recruit Hawaii HS very hard. But HS football players in Hawaii over the last 10 years have gotten better coaching and players are developing more so schools like LSU are paying more attention. It used to be BYU, Utah and other western schools that recruited Hawaii, now other schools have caught on that there's good players over there. With LSU scouts and recruiters making contacts over there I think that brings some attention to LSU athletes. Having Breiden helps a lot.

As long as it gets the pipeline rolling I don't care who is responsible. I'm just ecstatic to see it.

The bonus is the amount of tv coverage that LSU gets, that will start making the references by the announcers and this feeds the recruiting.

LSU got very good coverage last night. Vili The Warrior - Breiden's dad worked the game and was interviewed after they showed the Haka video with him and Breiden before an LSU game and talked about it going viral and how many views (over a million) that it got.

Not to mention Siaki dominating and getting talked about quite a bit. Parrish was probably the best QB in the game. It was great publicity for LSU that didn't cost a dime.

I'm not sure but I think they were all before the Poly Bowl game was created and maybe even before Poly the hall of fame.

Good call though, I had forgotten about them. I think the Teuhema's came from a Tongan hotspot in TX.

Let’s not forget his dad’s performance and involvement in the PB. I concur with you about Fehoko’s influenced on LSU’s signees participating in the game.

And who brings up LSU's head football coach for the first time in this thread? Was it me?

Only thing I can figure. If you watch the game and the colleges that were involved and talked about. No Texas, A&M, etc. etc. etc.

The teams that currently have Polynesian players were the ones who got recruits/commits/signees in the game.

The only thing I can come up with is Fehoko. Doesn't hurt that his parents seem to love LSU and recruit for the Tigers. That is why Siaki is enrolled as a Tiger.

It can never hurt to get players from a particular area. And those players over in the Hawaiian islands are big and athletic.

And they consider themselves family even when they aren't. Hell if they even know another Pacific Islander they are cousins. Unless the person is older - then they are Uncle or Auntie. It is a small and tightknit community.

You aren't original. You are nothing more than a small squeaky voice if a chorus of fools who hate this coach so much that you hope the team fails so that you can be right.

Regardless of for whatever reason(s) it came about, we've been lacking a Polynesian pipeline for a while, and I'm glad we have one now. It has the added boon of a positive effect on West Coast recruiting, as many west coast kids play with Polynesian teammates.

Tiger Ree,
I used to find you greatly positive and capable of taking a beating from negatigers with class.
Of a sudden, you have become aggressive, crude and hostile. What gives?
