Yeah I thought the handshake at the end was Bruce just listening. He had nothing.

Bruce looked like he wanted to beat the crap outta their coach. I need the full backstory on this. Ive never seen Bruce that mad with an opposing coach/team. Do we play UAB every year cause this could get fun!

We have played them the last four years, but according to the contract, this is supposed to be the last year. Pearl said last night that he wants to get the rivalry renewed. It’s a no brainer on getting it renewed imo. That game felt like a first round trap game in the big dance while they forced the pace to a screeching halt at times. Experience is invaluable.

Agreed. It was a great atmosphere and UAB always has good athletes who play hard.

Our team has some work to do to reach its potential, but last night was a good "ugly" win.

Didn’t get a chance to watch the game. Surprised when I saw it in OT. Anything to worry about or did we just not show up?

We still won and that’s the big thing. That was no certainty while we were down 7 in the second half. Probably the most concerning thing for me is our assist numbers were way down. We have to have more players at least moderately step up other than one player any given game. Wiley and his offensive moves were perfectly capable of sharing the burden down low but we didn’t get the ball to him late in tbe game. It was a different type of ball game though, so we will see how we progress.

I wouldn't call it alarming, but St. Peter's showed playing zone and running a deliberate O is a successful tactic to slow the streaks we have the ability to go on down. We didn't shoot the 3 well...if shot it about 5% LESS than normal we'd of won by double digits.

Living by the 3 and defensive rebounding are the only major issues I see, but every team has some issue.

I agree that Wiley was effective in the middle, and it seemed like he took up enough space that we were getting him the ball.

That's why I didn't understand why he only played 16 minutes, w/ no fouls. It would have taken some of the pressure off the other guys who simply were ice cold.

I agree.

That UAB game was the perfect half court game (three ball "off" for us) for Wiley to dominate. It's why he is so valuable to us this year. Pearl should have left him in and let him gain more experience.

He was playing horrible on D. Was late on help for 3 straight defensive possessions in the second half, and then he forced a jump hook and Pearl took him out.

Wiley is also a liability on free throws... playing him in crunch time (especially when we’re up) is gonna be difficult.
