He made 3 out of 4 regionals. Ok that's fine. But his Big Ten conference finishes are kind of startling considering the fact it's almost a stretch to consider the Big Ten "P5" for baseball in the first place.

Will he be successful here? Yes because every coach at Mississippi State since Paul Gregory has been. We still haven't had that coach that you can look back and say he was the GOAT. We don't have that. But we have had coaches who have taken advantage of the resources of this program and have made it to the CWS multiple times. I would predict Lemonis makes the CWS at some point. But idk if he was the best we could've done. Which makes me think like the other coaches before him, he will fall short and not win a Title.

See this is the biggest wtf to me about the whole situation. I'm fine with us missing out on Schloss, McDonnell, etc. That's okay, because we've seen in the past college baseball coaches don't move a lot. I can handle not getting one of those guys, but the big issue to me is that there are ton of other guys that have been way more successful as head coaches and done more with less than he has that I think would've truly been better hires. I'm a pretty big follower of college baseball overall, I follow folks in low D1 and D2. I just enjoy watching and listening to those guys talk. And if I were ranking coaches, obviously Schloss and Company are Tier 1 guys in the coaching profession. Lemonis is at best high Tier 3. You can't tell me we couldn't have pulled a Tier 2 guy like Dan Heefner, Greg Lovelady, or hell even Todd Whitting at Houston. All 3 are much better coaches than Lemonis in my opinion.

Yeah I agree. I'm surprised we didn't look at Whitting a bit more. The American is probably more of a P5 conference in baseball than the Big Ten.

the postseason run messed it up,

this is what I believe, it was a very abnolmal coaching search.

How do you hire and announce the new coach while the current one and the team are toiling away for the 'ship.

Basically had we not been playing we get Schloos, win the thing and hire Hendo, wait till you get put out and have take the best avalable.

Shitty position to be in if you are doing the hiring.
