I need to get better about watching for missed holds on our guys. Usually I'm only watching for holds when we're on defense. Would definitely be curious to see if we're similarly pushing the limits to see what is actually going to get flagged.

We held like crazy on the final play of the rose bowl but the officials were dead set on remaining in the background and not calling it. They didn’t want their name in the paper.

We do, but we don't clothesline the edge rushers.

I'm in a serious funk right now about all of this.
But refs are like injuries. They are an intangible of the game that you cannot control.

I think if the blocked punt wasn't called back and we manage to go up 20-0, the game takes on an entirely different feel and panic starts to set in on the Bama side.
But it is what it is with the calls and UGA had plenty of chances to win the game right down to the 2nd and 20+ long TD bomb we allowed. Not sure if Parrish has been playing hurt all year but he's been a complete liability in coverage.

This plus one more stop and we had the stop on that 3rd and 7. All we had to do is get him on the ground.

If we’re looking for calling it fair, this should’ve been a false start on Alabama. A dead ball penalty that backs them up 5 yards.
On the tying touchdown, Harris jumped early and they missed it. He was, however, tackled in the end zone while the ball was in the air. Assuming they missed the false start, this still should’ve drawn a flag as the ball was thrown to him. It didn’t.

This went both ways and as fans we tend to see if one way. When we’re on defense we watch our DL, when we’re on offense we watch the ball. Your interior line was getting whipped in the second half and they resorted to holding. Go back and watch the Fromm interception. Hand was held egregiously right in front of the quarterback and didn’t draw a flag. I just think they’re an inept crew, but the no calls went both ways.

This is the play that made Kirby stop throwing the ball and go super conservative. If we run the ball 3 Times after Bakers INT we put another 3 on the board minimum

It definitely seemed that way. Why coaches get away from what’s worked all game offensively to “protect” a lead puzzles me. It’s like playing prevent defense with a 2 point lead and two minutes left. The slot fades were there for the taking too, and Georgia only called two of them. The first one was picked off because of a bad throw and the second one went for an 80 yard touchdown. Tony Brown being the victim on both.

The terrible calls gave Bama a chance but, in the second half, Saban was aggressive on both sides of the ball and Kirby went passive. Coaching scared sucks.

I think us playing not to lose vs. playing aggressively is ultimately what cost us the game... glossing over no re-route on basic cover 2...
As painful as it was, I re-watched the game last night. I can't help but wonder if a number of the missed calls were simply due to refs trying to speed up the game. The first half was absolutely brutal with stoppages and a half million commercials every quarter. The second half had far fewer interruptions. If it was the case that they wanted to get the game moving more quickly, it would benefit the more "aggressive" team.

I don't know just how true it is yet, but some guy on 247 just presented evidence that the head official's nephew plays baseball for guess who? Alabama.

I've been very critical of the bad calls that all seemed to favor Alabama but I doubt that there was intentional favoritism. I can by into the the general idea of conspiracies related to pro gambling but that doesn't fit what happened Monday.
