He should be recognized for scoring the game winner last night, but he had 8 catches in 15 games this year. He might end up being the next Julio, but right now he's like the 5th guy on the depth chart.

It was a brilliant play call. Bama lined him up on 14, who was having an awful night, and had Foster and Ridley on the same side. Both safeties shaded to their side leaving Smith one on one with Toasty McToastface.

Just read that DeVonta Smith was committed to UGA until Richt was fired, at which point he re-opened his recruitment? True, UGA fans? Seems like something that would have made more news stories if that was actually how he ended up at Bama.

This is true. Just heard on ATL radio as they were discussing irony and Smith said after the game that he decommitted from UGA after Richt got fired due to uncertainty around the WR coach. Smith said Kirby never really reached out to him so he went to Bama and the rest, as they say, his history.
