Does Bentley suck for missing 2 wide open touchdowns?

Could we have ran more? sure but being down 2 touchdowns when the other team is draining 5-6 mins off clock every possession wasnt the recipe for the win today.

There were 3 or 4 plays today that were not executed.
Missing wide open AJ on the wheel route.
Missing wide open Hurst because throwing hand was hit.
Taking a sack with Smith running wide open on a deep post.
Ty'son dancing around in the backfield on 3rd and 2 instead of stretching it out for the yardage.

Those things killed drives and momentum and if hit, potentially changes the game or makes it significantly closer.

Those are the things that happen with freshman and sophmores on your team, uga has Jr's and Sr's they did not mis-execute when needed down the stretch.

I thought the game plan today was solid and enough to win the game with perfect execution, we didnt get that.
I know roper is a focal point of disgust when we lose, but today wasnt one of those days. Offense has changed drastically since whatever was going on in uk and a&m games.

Also on a side note I have not seen refs call holding on many games this year, there were a few that were pretty blatant today but thats just MY opinion.

There have been several times that Bentley has made a poor read, and checked down instead of hitting a wide open receiver breaking free. If the skill players are open, then the play is fine. Bentley will grow into the role- but I agree with the statements above. The offense is much more productive than it was in the first half of the season.

Not much one for moral victories, but two years ago this program was losing to El Cid, and only won one conference game. Today, they traded punches with one of the two most dominant teams in the country, and never blinked. Gotta respect the effort.

It's time to dominate UF, and establish Carolina as the only other east team with a future. Hell, outside of Bama and UGA, we're right there with Miss State and LSU in actually being worth a lick. Granted, that says more about the conference than us, but you play who you're scheduled.

IMO spread no huddle and Dakereon Joyner running the offense.

I’m one of the few who agrees that Roper has made progress this year. Our #1 playmaker went down early, #1 RB is out, not to mention we are still playing an OL that would barely cut it as a group of 5. Our coaches have us in position, the players have to execute better. Jake is still young and has started only over a seasons worth of games. With that said, his accuracy is off. He may be completing 62ish percent, but he’s missed many open targets and oft misses receivers in stride. It’s not all on him either, clearly remember him hitting Ortre in the numbers last week. Regardless, I give Roper a pass for one more year and see that our players haven’t executed what he has called this season as well. Blame that on youth or coaching, but it is what it is.

The miss to AJ on the wheel route appeared to have to do with touch. Another foot of air under the ball and AJ is gone, it did appear AJ slipped some too. I havn't went back and re watched the game but I know on passes earlier in the season all they needed was a bit more air under them. Maybe that is why they are saying he's too amped up or whatever because he sees the open guy and slings it instead of tossing it.

What I wouldn't give for another Damiere Byrd type of player that was impossible to overthrow because of his speed.
