Is going up to knoxville worth it?

Here's my situation. I have a ticket and a cheap hotel room. I've been sick as shite all week and have been pretty out of it. I'd be driving up day of on a 7 hour drive. Itd be a pretty costly trip when I have unknown expenses coming up next month. I wouldn't be going out to restaurants and stuff. I can cancel hotel room by Friday.
My initial though is that i shouldn't go. I should rest up but I'd hate to regret it.

Seems like an obvious choice. Stay 7 hours away and watch it in TV

You should go. The regular season will be halfway complete after the Tennessee game...
Let that sink in.

quote:If you're in Athens like your avi says, it's no where near a 7hr drive, more like 4 1/2 max... Hell,I live 30 mi. W of Atl. & can make the trip in 3 1/2 easy.
I'd be driving up day of on a 7 hour drive.
Drive up go to the game & drive back afterwards if you have a ticket already, You can be home by midnight & gas & snacks/food/drink would really be your only expense other than parking, but there's a lotta free parking downtown & you can take the shuttle for a few bucks...

Ditto what Dallas said. Plus you have a cheap hotel room already. No way it takes 7 hours unless you're Flintstoning it up there.

Make the drive, sell the ticket, and find someone to share the cheap hotel room. Watch the game on TV.

Gps says its a 7 hour drive. Through the rain. In mountains. Mostly through South Carolina. It's 500 miles.
By the time I get to knoxville itself, it will be 12 pm. Then there's parking. I don't know if hotel will let me park and even that is a few miles away from the stadium. Factor in the whole getting turned around at some point, even if I have to take a dump, I could end up getting to the game late.
Add in rain, sitting in tennesse section of fans and not really being able to enjoy myself, I'm hesitant.

Have you ever been to Neyland before?
If yes, stay home
If no, Go
Every fan should visit their opponent's house at least once.
I've been to all of them except for Mizzou, A&M and Baton Rouge.
