I can understand that we were beat up after playing that juggernaut ULM.

Sometimes a night off can do wonders for the mental side of the game. Won't do anything for their tackling, throwing, and blocking but what the hell.

I know everyone thinks this screams soft, but watching all the games this year it seems to me most of the mistakes have been mental.
There have been missed tackles and soft play at times, but my biggest concern has been guys lining up wrong, not covering an assignment, not communicating, or making a bad decision. Maybe a night off will allow some of those guys to watch some game film and refocus.

I would have been encouraged if the players had said "No coach, we suck right now. We need to practice so we can improve"
