Arkansas IS a curse that we’re all living with.

It's just crazy that when Broyles was head coach he surrounded himself with great assistants and let them do their jobs, it worked out great. When he became athletic director he still hired some really good head coaches but only let them do their job if they done it his way and it really hurt Arkansas athletics in his final years. Then Long took over and just about destroyed everything. Luckily he didn't last to long and it looks like we have struck gold with Hunter Yurachek. It's a great time to be a Razorback fan. Yurachek is breaking the curse!

I don't believe Nolan liked Nutt. He was mad at Broyles because he won a national title and made less money than mediocre Houston Nutt. I believe Broyles saw the basketball program as not on par with football when it came to importance. I think Nolan saw that as an insult.

Enter Hunter Yuracheck and he fired mediocre Mike Anderson. He hired Eric Mussleman. He took Arkansas to back to back Elite eights for the first time in 25 years. I don't know about you but that kinda sounds like the football program where the critics said that the basketball program would never be good again and that the Nolan years was just a flash in a pan. Well I guess those critics are silent now.
This has what to do with winning an SEC football title? I respect your opinion and your dedication to your team. But your opinion is literally just an opinion with zero empirical evidence to back it up. There is absolutely 0 similarities between college football and basketball and I am still waiting for something concrete from you that would prove you guys should have won an SEC championship in the past and are capable of winning one in the future. (In football)
I like the Hogs, I have all the respect in the world for Pittman, there is nothing easy about going from a bottom dweller to 9 wins. The fact remains, this is the best conference in America, no one has won it without elite recruiting. Ever. And it’s not changing. There’s no proof suggesting Arkansas would’ve won an SEC championship in the past with a different coach and there is absolutely no proof that Pittman will go from 9-4 to 12-1 and winning SEC titles. I’d love to see it but it’s not happening.

Do have proof that it won't happen?

0 for 30 in SEC titles since joining the conference in 1992, haven’t been competitive in their own division in 15 years, your two best teams since joining the conference didn’t even win their division, only six teams have won the conference in the last 30 years and they all averaged a top 8 recruiting class in a 4 year cycle.
If you aren’t recruiting at elite levels you will not win this conference.

Bump
Arkansas fumbles on the one, about to possibly put the game away..A&M recovers and takes it to the house.
2 minutes left in the game 2nd and 5 from the 15. Bad snap, loses 10 yards. First down here and Arkansas wins.
Literally hit the top of the goal post.

I made this post last August.
Since then:
Our two best basketball players missed most of the season
Our two best pitchers missed the entire baseball season
One of our 2024 football recruits was tragically killed in a 4-wheeler accident
Ryan Mallet and Alex Collins both lost their lives within 2 months of each other
