I think Auburn needs to roll the dice on Hugh. He's a cultural fit and loves rubbing elbows with boosters. Hugh's biggest fault (from a professional standpoint) is that he does not take criticism well.

Hugh would drag his nuts across broken glass for the Auburn job.
he is a good football coach but I just don't trust him. He has shown some bad judgement, even in the last few months

I have no idea what Lane's future hold, but it sure is funny to watch OM fans try to convince themselves that he would be fool to ever leave.

The Bama boosters have long been put far away and Saban has complete control. Bama doesn’t need booster money since Saban stepped in the way Auburn does is the BIG difference. It will remain that way with the next coach at Bama, too.

Auburn needs to learn to manage boosters.

Saban has complete control, but that void will be great when he retires. Saban has always used Bama's booster money, it was used under the table. When NIL came about, he had to plea for it since it was much greater than the under the table cost. Again, Bama will meet the short term demands of Saban, but will have long-term issues. Bama doesn't manage boosters, Saban does.

Auburn offers much better facilities, stadium and better odds of playing for championships

Not with Bama and Georgia in their current states.

I think Auburn's newfound place in the pecking order hasn't quite hit some of the Auburn faithful here and that's to be expected. It will probably take a couple of years to adjust.

Who has kept either program out of being #1 the most the last 10 years?

There isn't a coach in America who wouldn't take the Bama job if offered, Lane included. It's probably #1 on his list.

Kirby, dabo, Riley, most nfl coaches

Lane and Ole Miss loss to Auburn and Harsin. Auburn has won 6 in a row against Ole Miss and the 35-10 records indicates Auburn is a better job. Plus we have won SEC Championships, been to the SEC championship games and a recent NC. Big 6. The right coach will do very well.. FYI, the NIL deal is there for the right person who actually gets out and recruits

Whoever follows Saban has zero chance of pleasing the spoiled Bama fans.

It’s going to be like starting over again with Ray Perkins after CNS leaves.
