I really don't understand why folks keep bringing this up.
Both Saban and Miles were random Yankee coaches when they came to Louisiana and neither had anywhere close to the resume that Kelly has.

West Virginia is more southern than Yankee.
And no need to go into the whole WV broke away from Virginia in the Civil War days story, I know the history.
