Tech’s defense gave up more points in the last 2 games

Other observations from my seat yesterday
1. Mark Richt Field is a dump. Smells like piss and boiled peanuts
2. Some woman caught an extra point and tried to take off with the football. She gained more yards than Tech did all day
3. All 14 Tech fans I saw are old. Like no one under 60 old.
4. Nothing says uber nerd like being in Tech’s band.
5. Stadium was at least 90% Dawgs. 99% in the upper deck
6. Tech game highlight reel at halftime was fun. Highlighting 2 yard runs

frick tech but I was fairly impressed with that small RB. He could be good with a decent team

I thought the tech student section represented well.
They didnt know any rules, werent loud, or good lookin. But they showed up.

I tailgated with a Tech friend. We had a good time down on Techwood. I thought Tech fan spirit was good considering they are 3-9. I remember years we were 4-7 and the spirit in Sanford was downright toxic. I like the stadium. We went to several Atlanta United games there. Great views of downtown. I went in 2017; that year I would say 70-30 UGA fans. This year looked like 85-90%. The fire is really out of that rivalry compared to the late 90's and 00's. My Tech friends aren't completely ready to fire Collins since he does a better job promoting the program than Johnson. If he doesn't make a bowl next year, it's possible he gets fired. Still with the academics at Tech, it's going to be hard bring that program back to relevance.

If you're going to make program promotion a huge part of your appeal, you can't follow that up with a home loss to Northern Illinois and then losing 100-0 to UGA and ND.
Collins is a buffoon who is in way over his head. GT is a tough, tough gig right now. That base is so apathetic towards football and their student body as a whole could not give any less of a shite. I hope this doesn't happen, but GT could drop football and not a lot of people would care or notice.
They need to do what Texas Tech just did. Hire a well respected HS coach as their HC (for recruiting purposes) and then allow him to put good coordinators around him. Unfortunately, the best name for that job description is probably Dell McGee. Fortunately, I don't think GT would do it and I don't think Dell would take it.
